I couldn't relate to the characters

I dont really know how I feel about this series. It was enjoyable enough to read. Though I struggled to relate to the characters own personal feelings for each other. Personally I found it very hard to accept that Serenity could even feel desire for someone who was responsible for the death of both her parents. It was hard for me to enjoy the dominating personality of Montes and his possessiveness. With each book, however, I did like the person Montes was becoming. I dont know I think this book really should have been my type of book. I like to think that even pure evil can be swayed by love. Still though, I couldn't relate to their feelings. It was a good book but not the kind of series that I'd read twice.

Despite my feelings on this particular series I really do like this Authors other works and would reccomend checking those out. They are very good.

I know people have been a little hit or miss when it comes to books by this author. But, there are so many positives about this series in general. First of all, the main character is a badass. She's unconventional and so many ways. Her family has been destroyed by the undying king. She realizes that she's in a position to bring peace between the West and the East if only she can marry the person who destroyed her life. Now, you think that means the main character will be demure, and become a second class version of herself. But, when she takes out vengeance on the person that she cares about. That's when you know this is a really well-written character.
I implore you to give it a chance. When you reach the end of the second book you will realize how well written Serenity is. And how well developed Montes becomes.
Read it!!

Oh this book...I have been searching for a book where the villain is the 'hero' because, let's face it - I'm weird like that and for whatever reason I don't like my heroes 'good' in any sense of the word. Good equates to boring for me. I found this novel by accident and am I glad I did!. I write also and I write because I wasn't finding books I liked to read a few years ago. I started writing to keep myself entertained. I was so into this series, I read IT instead of writing my current novel and not just one - all three in the series, as in - finish one, buy the next one immediately. I never do that. The heroine was unlike any female protagonist I have ever read. She was believable in her badassness - maybe a bit smarter and more astute than anyone else, including the villain/hero/male protagonist, and for some reason, I liked that. I've seen it attempted in other books and somehow it always makes my eyes start rolling but that didn't happen with this series. My only beef was the fact that I kept thinking,"By god, give these two a break already!!!" I mean, it was like one thing after another! But it kept me reading, so kudos to Ms. Thalassa. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes their romances a bit more gritty and crazy than the norm.

I adore this series with all my heart. This was a reread and I’m sure it won’t be the last. In fact I could totally just go right back to the beginning and start all over again right now.

Montes and Serenity are one of my favorite couples. Such a swoony, enemies to lovers, burn down the world, made for each other, greyest of the grey, love story.

This is the third book in the series, and I really loved it! I read it in one sitting and was completely mesmerised by its amazing plot. The book “The Queen of All that Lives” is a true finding for all admirers of adventures. Full of vivid dialogues and various plot twists it never fails reader’s expectations.
The first-person perspective is the most special way to convey the emotions of the character. The readers get the possibility to perceive most of the events from Serenity’s perspective, having an amazing feeling of participation in the book events themselves. The story starts when the soldiers woke Queen Serenity up from deep sleep in one of the king’s fabled Sleepers, where she stayed for a whole century. They want Serenity to end the war, and for that purpose, she has to fight the king she once loved…
All characters of the book are so interesting and unique, and each one of them adds to the whole picture, which results in a truly gripping, adventurous book, with a fast-paced plot and unexpected occurrences!
If you want to meet true warriors and submerge into the most engrossing love story you’ve ever heard of, this book is definitely for you!

What a very well written, developed and drafted plot. I loved the strength of all the characters. I would have appreciated more on the medical aspects, cloning etc and those stories, maybe from Marco’s perspective? But, I loved seeing the hero and heroine conquer and return the world to peace.

After reading Pestilence, which was my first book by this author, I loved it so much I wanted to read more of her books so I read this series. I have just finished book 3 and I have to say it was an amazing series. I read one after the other as I was so drawn into the story and characters I just had to keep reading to find out what happened. These stories are so well written my heart was in my mouth most of the time just wondering what on earth was going to happen next!
