I liked the story line. Psychological thrillers, mysteries, and spooky shows are my favorite so it sounded like the perfect story line. I hadn't heard of the series, but it popped up when I googled top tv shows to watch. I watch Vampire Diaries and other A&E shows so I thought I'd buy the whole first season.
It is good. But it moves extremely slow. C-class, independent movie slow. It's slower than The Bates Motel, which, even though it was a Bit slow, not as slow as The Returned and more dialogue, so I found myself watching episode after episode.
I haven't watched the second episode of The Returned yet, so we'll see. Honestly, it seems like it's going to stay this way. I'm not strictly into fast-paced, action shows or anything. But if this moved just a Little faster I might actually get hooked. It's dragging and the only reason I can think of is so that it will fill time, so I can't give it 3 stars. I just feel the introduction of characters, the story line, and the mood/effect could be conveyed the same, if not Way better, if it wasn't dragging. And a little more dialogue. Seems very lazy so far.
