Long live the Tick!!
The only thing disappointing about this show is that there is not more of it!

Blew away my expectations and more
I was disappointed by Umbrella Academy, Doom Patrol, Legion and others when the writing would start to buckle under the weight of it's forced conflicts or misunderstandings between characters. It started to seem to me that superhero shows just couldn't maintain a consistent quality and I accepted that to the point of not having much expectations each time I watched one. The first season of The Tick was pretty charming and though a comedy, Superian's line to Arthur of "just wanting to be a good person" actually touched me.

This season was even better. I'm extremely grateful to have been able to enjoy the witty dialogue, cheese and interesting developments this season brought forward. Silly as it was, I almost got teary when they made the speech about choosing love over fear.

The characters are so likable and I'm glad they gave a little something for everyone, including Dot, Kevin and their Mother. This kind of fun and heart was just the kind of show I was looking for. Can't wait for more.

LAUGHED SO HARD I CRIED - I LOVE THIS SHOW
This show is phenomenal. Just binged the second season. It went way past my expectations. Great cast, great writing...wholly engrossing. A mystic nipple, singing lobster babies, a black hole heart, and so much more. The dance parties provided much joy. Also, that ending.

Excellent Sophomore Season
Very enjoyable second season of this great Amazon show. Serafinowicz and Newman are excellent (as always) and some interesting new information comes out about some of the characters. I was very happy to see that Overkill and Miss Lint are back as neither Scott Speiser or Yara Martinez had any mention of being in this on their IMDB pages until the trailer came out a few days ago (NDA for the win I assume). Great new characters and it has some very touching moments as well. I'm just hoping that Amazon renews The Tick for a third outing. Slightly more family friendly in this go round as the profanity is much more toned down (even though I have no problems with profanity myself some reviewers complained about the language in the first season). If you enjoyed season 1 you should definitely enjoy this season as well.

Subtle but brilliant!
To me the Tick has never been about your run of the mill super heroes it's about average people who are trying to do something "super" with their lives, usually to overcome some shortcoming or personal failure. The actual "super" beings featured in the show are actually impaired by their personal failure of not even knowing what it is to be human or of not knowing or even in the case of the big blue guy who they are or even where they came from. I mean anybody remember the cartoon? The civic minded five? The Carpeted Man? Feral Boy? The Human Bullet? Or how about Bi-polar Bear? Deflator Mouse and American Maid? None of these character's were perfect but they all were struggling to become more than they were. This series has at least captured that and made it more relatable
with some savvy writing and modern twist. I was hopeful when I learned of the concept at Comic Con New York back in 2015 but have been pleased overall with the execution of the series. Please keep up the awesome work!

More even-keeled, still quite good
Season 1 worked well because it was just Too Much of everything so of course there was enough 5-star goodness. Season 2 feels heavily edited by comparison: its high points aren't so high but nothing really misfires; the entire thing is cohesive and coherent in a way the first season just plain wasn't. It's hitting cute notes instead of zany notes, it kindles happiness instead of sparking joy. Still loving it, still highly recommend.

Funny, touching, and great special effects!
I'm a long time fan of superhero comics, and I loved this show when it first appeared in an earlier version years ago. When it returned last year with its present cast, I wasn't sure I'd like it as much, but I was wrong. The new actors playing The Tick and Arthur are excellent, everyone in the supporting cast is funny, and there are some cool special effects. Can't wait to binge watch Season Three when it comes available!
