Watch the WHOLE first episode before you make a decision... It is a KEEPER series
At first, I was ok... another teen drama of pointless drama. Keep watching. YOU will be hooked. This series has a great start. By the end of Episode ONE you will be hooked.

Don't want to spoil anything... just letting you know... it's worth the watch.

Don't judge by the trailer - addicting plot and excellent character development
As of writing this I've only seen the first episode but I'm getting some Lord of the Flies/Lost/Survivor vibes but with teenage girls. I definitely found this to be much more interesting (and quite different) than the trailer led on. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one!

Update: Binged the first season. Was it predictable? Sometimes, but not enough for me to feel bored like most thrillers/mysteries I can figure out right away, because it definitely had/kept me fooled or stumped multiple times.
Criticisms: The people claiming this show has an SJW agenda are wrong, but they did go for some pretty extreme caricatures and stereotypes for some things (the angry lesbian, the "loving" but intolerant Christians from Texas, the overweight girl asking for an extra milkshake [that pissed me off but I was willing to forgive it, though it definitely seemed out of character]).

Praise: The plot is addicting and, while most of these characters don't actually sound like teenagers (but when do produced shows ever realistically portray teenagers), the character development is great and the portrayal of OCD through Leah's character is some of the best I've ever seen portrayed in media (at least regarding the obsessive/intrusive thoughts element of OCD). The episode focusing on Dot's recent past brought me to tears.

I don't feel like the show pushes too much of a message down your throat aside from "don't be homophobic" (which, come on, it's 2020, let people love who they want already, they can't infect you with the gay - it isn't a disease) and "cheating is gross", but otherwise this show didn't feel patronizing nor preachy. I feel like it raises some intriguing questions about ethics and morality, despite being an unrealistic thing to happen in our current world. The people complaining about it being unrealistic make me wonder how they feel about superhero shows and movies as well as Hunger Games - it's definitely set in like an alternate reality where most of the world is similar to ours except research experiments clearly have zero legal/ethical limitations.

I still get strong Lord of the Flies meets Hunger Games and Lost vibes from this show (and actually chuckled to myself when Leah mentioned Deus Ex Machina in an episode).

I'm mad that there are only 10 episodes. I hope we get a season 2! I will definitely renew a prime membership just to watch season 2 of this show!

Unrealistic and incredibly predictable
I was originally attracted to the concept advertised for this show. A group of young women stranded on an island after their plane crashed. However, that advertisement was a lie.

The first episode mostly tells one girl's story leading up to the "accident". We see all the women on the plane eating cake then later see them awakening in very convenient positions and vomiting cake. If that's not enough to make you realize there's something fishy going on then the show goes out of it's way to make it plainly obvious before revealing at the end of the first episode that yes, this is all an elaborate plan. *Shocker*

What's even more unrealistic about the first episode is the fact that a teen girl spends the entire episode talking to two strange men about her first sexual experience as an underage teen with an older man. There's nothing that especially endears the strange men to this young woman so the whole conversation is rather unbelievable and eyerollingly awkward.

This series would have been more interesting if it had stuck with the premise advertised instead of making it unnecessarily complicated with an obvious overarching plot. These are great actresses and I want to care about these characters but the plot ruins it.

Completely Genius
I loved that this was a trip into the teenage girl's psyche. The fact that there was such a nuanced approach to all these wildly complex characters is what really drew me in. The ending is delicious, the plot is nothing like I've ever seen, the actors' portrayals of emotion are completely captivating, and all in all, the humor is lovely. You begin to love and root for the girls despite their immense downfalls, and you might even see yourselves in them. The comments that give this show a bad review are generally bigoted, and I implore you to view this with an open heart.

Already addicted
The trailer of this reminded me of a book by VC Andrews so today I came to check it out. Expected a girlie drama that I love but my husband doesn't watch with me. He put work down and watched every second with me. We are both hooked, will be watching it together to the end. I feel sorry for the angry reviewers who are gay bashing. Gay people exist, but if you want to never see them there are plenty of conservative echo chambers on the internet where you can avoid us progressive sinners.

Political correctness over good storytelling, no thanks!
For starters it's too predictable, I lost interest after an episode or two. Worse was the continual woke social justice references, it was too much to the point of being annoying.
