The only caveat is that readers of the Elephant and Piggie books need to know a certain number of sight words. (And before you jump down my throat about that, try explaining to your kid how to sound out "was," "have," or "said.")
All three of my kids loved reading these books over and over when they were learning to read, and neither my husband nor I minded hearing them as often as they wanted to read them. (Actually, the kids still get excited if they happen to run across them, and they're 7, 9, and 10 now.) Frankly, I've yet to meet anyone who DOESN'T like Gerald and Piggie.
Our all-time favorites are:
Watch Me Throw the Ball - I love the moral of the story where the most important thing is to have a good time, even if you're not a pro.
Can I Play Too? - love this one because it teaches you to think outside the box and make the most of what you have.
What I really like about the stories is they have just 1-2 things on each page that a little one can stay focused on instead of being distracted or overstimulated by too many things to look at. The other thing I love is the expressions on the characters faces...they are so human like!
I have a 2 year old grandson that’ll actually sit still while I read the books and he’s learning to interact with what goes on in the stories. This story is adorable, I would recommend the collection!

I would disagree about the Other review about "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus". I really wasn't sure about that one either but it is hugely interactive for children and I imagine it would be a big hit for story time at nursery.
Children love books with short, sharp messages and this certainly fitted the criteria.
As I had already purchased the book before I knew exactly what I wanted and obviously got!!
Mo Willams books are excellent. Funny, informative and children love them but, thereagain, so do Grannies!!
Such good value for the fun they give!
à recommander à tous les enfants et adultes qui apprennent l'anglais.
Text is large and easy to read. Pictures are of the quality expected from Mo Willems.
