Collins' pencil-and-digital illustrations are completely interwoven with the text, enlarging and enhancing the tale with over-the-top humor and expressive body language. The mouse jumps out of a box (in that underwear), offers a juicy pear, glares from atop a ladder, and more. The bear matches these goofy antics as he reads a newspaper, does an Elvis impression, takes a snooze, and checks his cellphone. Silly, laugh-out-loud fun.
...delightful, rhyme-filled read that's sure to remind parents of classic Dr. Seuss.

This familiarity with the story did however highlight a minor flaw in this edition: the line "Perhaps if I give him a scare" has been changed to "Maybe I'll give him a scare" which doesn't flow quite as well, and which causes consternation on the part of our daughter, who also has the paperback edition with the original line.
Still, it's fantastic that she can read this one without tearing the pages in excitement, so overall a big win!
The illustration is great and the font a good size for little readers. My 2year old seems to like it.
