I’m an avid reader and easily go through 2-4 books a week (thank you Kindle Unlimited for feeding my addiction), so I often get tired of whatever genre mood I’m in or my brain dumps the storyline once I finish a book. Not so with Gervais. Coming from a military & law enforcement family, I appreciate the accuracy of scenarios (nails on chalkboard when I read “over and out!”). Book 3’s editing is a little looser than books 1 & 2, but I’ll live. Keep writing, sir, and I’ll keep reading. And thank for your honorable service.

What a fantastic book. I've read each of the books he has written and he keeps getting better and better. (Which, frankly, is pretty hard to do since his first book was excellent!) He has become a master of the "Tom Clancy" literary device in which he smoothly runs 3 or 4 character's stories concurrently to develop the plot and then mesh them together to create a marvelous and suspenseful conclusion. Some more experienced writers still struggle at that which makes the story difficult to follow. Not Simon. He's got it!
I usually only read while working out on an elliptical and treadmill machines at the gym around 2 hours a day so I read a lot of books. Some books do not keep my interest and make the time drag on but this book made the time go by so quickly as it was so well written and full of action.
So if you like action stories by other authors such as Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, or Joel Rosenberg, etc. do yourself a huge favor and buy this book. I don't understand why it is so cheap except that he is a fairly new author but don't let that fool you.
And furthermore, as if you needed anything else, this guy is the real deal. He's been there, done that, unlike nearly all the others who write in this category. My only regret is that I've never had the chance to sit down with him over a cup of coffee!

It took only 4 QODs to destroy the HQ of our powerhouse organization. [Considering it took 1 to destroy the WTC and serously breach the Pentagon, it is not outside the realm of possibility.] The head of Mossad was also captured and tortured by relatively few.

To the same hotel he just narrowly escaped from! Seems an Iranian general initiate a plan that has been in the works since 1979. At that time Iranian refugees infiltrated the US. Plenty of time for their offspring to grow up into respected citizens and be in positions of some authority. Starting with the assassination of the Canadian Prime Minister, the dominoes begin to fall and the IMSI has little time to identify the terrorists. Thus is drawn the thick crimson line and the red isn't roses. Another excellent Mike Walton book!

Losing family, horrific injuries, these things would stop most people, but most people aren't like Mike & Lisa. This 3rd book in the Mike Walton series is by far the best. Gervais hit the mark with books 1 and 2, but he has outdone himself in this one. This is a must read for Gervais fans. You won't want to put it down as it hurtles to an explosive conclusion.

There were more spelling and grammar errors than I've seen in his other books, which I found distracting (and occasionally confusing - like I wasn't 100% sure what he was saying). I have already pre-ordered Gervais' next book, Hunt Them Down, to be released on January 1, 2019. This is not a Mike Walton Thriller; but I love Gervais' writing style and will buy anything he publishes. You will too!
