I was beyond disappointed with this book-- especially having recently re-read some of my Sandra Brown favorites and re-discovered some of her weaker ones. I felt as though it was a throwback to an era where rude, even cruel behavior was supposed to be a signal of manly strength and thus to be tolerated, or worse, admired. Even by the end, I could not understand how these two people were supposed to survive a romantic weekend much less a long-term commitment.

One of the best books of this year that I read. Sandra Brown never lets you down and after reading my other favourite authors dud book I was a bit apprehensive but I loved this book.
I will not spoil it for those who haven’t read it yet, this is definitely a must read.
First book where the main leads aren’t going back and forth and annoying fights which truly annoys me but here everything just flowed.
You did it, Sandra!!

Sandra Brown is a must-read for me. She is one of my favorite writers. I couldn’t pass on Thick as Thieves. I'm extremely thankful to Grand Central Publishing for my early copy.

In Thick as Thieves, a heist gone wrong, a murder, and a father’s disappearance twenty years ago are at the center of the story.

Arden Maxwell decides to move back to her family home when she realizes she is pregnant. Her home has been isolated and left unkept since her father disappeared that awful night twenty years ago. Arden might not realize it at the beginning but she is looking for answers. After tragedy strikes, she is determined to find out more about her father's disappearance and it seems like Ledge Burnet might have some or all of the answers.

Life has not treated Ledge Burnet fairly. He lost his parents at an early age and his uncle and his wife took him in. Soon after, his aunt died and it just became the two of them. Ledge was placed in juvie for smoking marijuana. An error he's not going to repeat until the night Arden's father disappears and he is being taken to jail after he's stopped by cops and drugs are found in his car. Ledge is certain he was framed two decades ago and he, as much as Arden, wants to know the truth.

As with the majority of the books by Sandra Brown I've read, this one is a page-turner. The suspense was killing me. Some things I guessed, some others took me by surprise.

Mrs. Brown can write great enemies. In this case, Rusty was an evil man with too much power and a hateful soul. It was so easy to hate him.

My sole complaint would be the ending. Everything resolved too neatly for me. Anyway, the end was not enough for me not to enjoy it.

Another good thriller from Sandra Brown, I only started her books about a year ago and have now read and enjoyed them all.
This story centres around a robbery which took place ten years earlier and how it has impacted the lives of those involved.
Arden returns to her childhood home determined to find answers following the presumed death of her father who seems to have been involved in a bank robbery ten years ago and has now vanished.
Ledge was also involved and is trying to save Arden from turning over too many stones and gaining the attention of crooked DA Rusty Dyle who will stop at nothing to keep the secrets of the past dead.

Sandra Brown is fast becoming my favourite author. This was a compelling read. The characters were great, the villain despicable and the love story entwined throughout was perfect. I did not foresee the twist at the end which had me re-reading chapters to check on the storyline. All very cleverly done. Not much emphasis on police procedures but this did not detract from the story in any way. I loved it

Been a long standing fan of Sandra Brown & I’ve read 99% of her fab books. Page turners, twists, chemistry.. as much as I tried to take my time with this 1 to savour it- I failed! Finished it off within a day.
Loved the main 2 characters: esp as per, the chemistry between them steams up the pages.
Going back & 4th between 2000 & present gives the reader an in-depth understanding of the characters.
Another sizzling 1 from Ms Brown✅
