Good for an independent.

After I watched the first movie, I thought this was a series of young adult books. I asked my kids if they had heard of this series. They had not. So I did a little research and was surprised to find it was not. This was put together by a youtube person from scratch.
The main premises is kind of unbelievable. But then again, so is a lot of other sci fi. The idea that a country would cull its population by killing the "dumb" ones. But other countries (in the same world) solve it in different, more logical ways. Such as birth control.
So, ignoring the main premise. The rest of the movie is a little less believable than the first one. I don't want to spoil the movie, but how do they hide taking care of all those people? and why is everyone still a teenager? Wouldn't some of the workers have aged?
I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the third movie which, I think, is being made. Perhaps slowed by covid.

Wow...just some bad bad writing and acting

I mean it was pretty bad, but funny as hell. It's basically every ignorant high schoolers view of how the world works...and again just another trash film that teaches young people that there is no hope and the world is going to suck no matter what. I did laugh my ass off during parts of it...but I would NOT spend $4.99 on could get more entertainment from watching a cat lick itself.

Okay, I know people out there will hate on this movie because the main star is a YouTuber. However, we really liked this movie as well as the first Thinning movie. Interesting story if you think about it, a little scary too.

Predictable and poorly written

My daughter and I sat down to watch this because she had seen the trailer and thought it looked good unfortunately once we started watching the people in the show did so many periodic things that were either predictable or just a dumb move on their behalf that we ended up having a good laugh saying what was going to happen next to each other and most of the time we were right lol.

Logan Paul haters don't say it to his face

So every year the kids take a test to see if they're smart enough to live, if they feel the test they are dissapeered hence the title the thinning thinning of the herd. We find out where they're disapeering too, and its not too make soylent green as I hoped.
Seeing Logan Paul man-handle the government storm troopers, is believable he is a division wrestler and still looks like he can deliver a whup ass.

When is part 3 coming?

I liked this movie! In the next one, it would be nice to know what other countries think about the USA 's population control method (sound bites from BBC for example). Looking forward to the next one;)

‘We were kinda excited to see that there was a second part to this story. However it left you hanging again only to read that they will more than likely not make a third addition due to the main male character and his hobbies of being ridiculous on YouTube. Even in the movie he got annoying.

Really enjoyed this movie. Not a terrible plot or the worst acting ever. Kept me interested (which is hard). Despite all the bad reviews, I actually was compelled To watch and liked it.
