A resident of North Carolina's Outer Banks, A.P searches for that unique element that twists the everyday commonplace into the weird. When he's not writing fiction, he composes music, dabbles in animation, and muses about theology and mind-hacking, all while watching way too many online movies.
As a writer, I have always had an affinity for exotic locales, maniacal villains, and the flashy heroes of turn-of-the-century pulp fiction. As a reader, my shelf is brimming with science fiction and fantasy. And as a teacher, I spend my days diving into world history and philosophy.
Currently, I am in Denver, CO hard at work writing while attempting to raise two crazy little boys with my lovely wife (and biggest fan), Rachel.

Dan Koboldt is a science fiction & fantasy writer and the author of the Gateways to Alissia series.
He's also a genetics researcher at a leading children's hospital, where he and his colleagues use next-generation DNA sequencing technologies to uncover the genetic basis of inherited disease. He has co-authored more than 70 publications in The New England Journal of Medicine, Science, Nature, and other scientific journals.
Dan is an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Every fall, he disappears into the woods to pursue whitetail deer with bow and arrow. He lives with his wife and children in Ohio, where the deer take their revenge by eating all of the plants in his backyard.
Evan Henry is a writer, reader, and perpetual student living in central Virginia. Aside from a number of boring day jobs and a few published short stories, he has been a staff writer for Broken Frontier and The Cavalier Daily. As the Editor in Chief of Black Ship Books, he strives to nurture modern multimedia platforms for storytelling in all its forms, and through the publisher’s website seeks to place pop culture in conversation with the social sciences and the humanities.
Writing predominantly character-driven science fiction, Evan likes to examine conjunctions of the mundane and the transcendent, moments at which the everyday is transfigured into something uncanny or extraordinary. His non-fiction, available on the Black Ship website and Medium.com, is often about pop culture, religious narratives, or the power of words, sometimes all at the same time. His short story “With Gilded Wings” was nominated for the 2015 Pushcart Prize.

Lacking in big names sometimes does the small anthology a great service, nobody gets there because of who they are it seems. Spots are by the story under consideration and not work offered in the past. There are no stinkers in the midst here.
Wind Chimes and A Rock in the Air are my favorites of the bunch, both are fantastic.
A nice collection here. While there are traditional stories of time travel and knights errant and deals with the devil, there are some more experimental stories here too. One story is narrated by a cat, another is written in 2nd person, and there is one in present tense as well (though is less and less unusual.)
There is enough of a breadth of topics and styles that most everyone will find something they like. The stories I liked the best were "Wind Chimes," "Rock in the Air," and "Just Visualate."
Some stories were underwhelming, and all in all I'd give this a 3.5. But I'm rounding up because the good stories were really quite excellent.
This anthology has wonderful stories from three very entertaining themed anthologies published in 2015. Witty humor, interesting plots, smart dialogue, and outrageous characters will make your day if you love fantasy, science fiction, and all weird things in between.
I enjoyed the stories from Ain't Superstitious so much, I think that will be my next read.
