We love the book, “Secret Pizza Party” by the same author, so we thought we would get this book too. I really wanted to love this book as well, but I don’t.
The story is okay, but two things completely distract from the story that I just can’t seem to get past.
1.) The main character’s name is Mr. Fookwire. I don’t know if I am pronouncing it right but two of my kids took a double take when I said that as they thought I was about to say a “bad word.” Of all the names to use in a children’s book, not the best choice in my opinion.
2.) If squirrels are going to be sitting around drinking cherry cola and eating salt-and-vinegar chips... why in the world would they even want to get their hands on bird seed?!?!
In m opinion, skip this book and get “Secret Pizza Party” instead.
