Once again, Ms. Dark completely surprised me. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to read this installment of the Seven series because I really didn’t care for either character that much in the earlier books. Man, was I in for a treat! While Naya is still not my favorite heroine, the story of her and Wheeler was superb!
Learning the story behind Wheeler’s personality is heart-wrenching yet it wraps the reader completely around his character and makes one yearn for a mate so devoted. Kudos to the author for such a nuanced and emotional journey!
There are a few times pages drag just a little when a bit too much space is taken in the mundane descriptions, conversations etc. (those “tag it, cause I’m losing you” times) but the richness of the overall story was so compelling that it keeps one turning those pages, tears and all!
I’m still nervous about Denver and Maizy, but I’ll see if the next book manages to make it not creepy for a man to fall in love with the little girl he helped raise (blech!).
Dannika Dark is never short of creative storytelling and hitting us upside the head with plot twists. Don't I love her for it!!!
From previous books, we knew Wheeler and Ben (The Twins) were a mystery in many ways. I was never quite sure how to feel about them though Wheeler did stand out more. I'm glad their story wasn't really unveiled until later in this series. The build up really lent to the story. As usual, Dannika Dark has her timing down to a T.
Make no mistake this book is not about THE TWINS, Ben does have his part, but this was all Wheeler and Naya! I think we all saw this pairing coming, but they still managed to have many surprises for us. They play so well off of each other. More than that they really gave each other what a family. I can't imagine what it was like for Wheeler to be constantly surrounded by family and yet never really feeling like he had a place. Naya gave him that. For all of Naya's grief about pack life it was great to see that that is a little of what she needed, too.
Very intrigued by what we had going on in the background as well. I loved seeing the guys, Jericho and Lorenzo, as doting fathers. On that note, I love that Dark didn't feel the need to have the alpha instantly start a family. He has his priorities, and perhaps now that the pack is becoming more family oriented and comfortable, there can be a discussion. William continues to stand out for me. He has a presence that says he is going to be important here. My theory is that the last two books will be for Denver and William.
It was fitting to read this on Easter as these books are always an Easter egg hunt!
This was a page Turner from the start. We get to find out all about the standoffish Wheeler, his past, his twin and what he really feels about a twist Naya. As for Naya, we learn why she is exudes a sense of confidence, but hides her true self.
This was action packed, with plenty of humor and witty insults between Wheeler and Naya. All the usual characters make plenty of appearances, and the pack dynamics are always interesting.
Overall, a very good book five in the Seven series. If you've been reading this series, you won't be disappointed. I'm enjoying this Breed world and all the characters.

Ever since the Slap back in 6 months I have been waiting to read this,
I so wanted this to be the pairing for Wheeler, I have has a soft spot for him over his twin Ben, n always had a feeling something a lot bigger was going on between those two and secrets.
Well Naya is a sassy stong and always full of innuendo with a sassy mouth.
Big question is what is her animal?
Why did Wheeler decide to be covered in tattoos?
This book shows their story and how that letting someone in on your secrets is a strength not a weakness.
Yet another 5* read from Dannika
Can people change? we will have to wait for the next seven series book
Is there more love blossoming some hints in this book towards what may be going on.
Enjoy this read Ile be re-reading soon
I liked the action in this part of the storyline, very detailed and great development among the characters. As well very funny moments, had a good laugh. Is never boring at the Weston pack. LOL
The story starts off a bit slow and I wasnt sure I will enjoy it, but Dannika Dark has done it again. My biggest surprise was that I actualy liked Naya, whereas in the past books I really couldn't warm up to her.
I hope the next story will be Ben's and Denver's will be last. I am not sure how Ben will make up for everything but I am willing to give him a chance.
As to Denver's story... Is it very wrong that I am hoping it will be him and Maizy??? I can imagine her growing up and falling in love with her childhood watchdog... Well we will have to wait and see.
