Thriller - Hosted By Boris Karloff, "Return Of Andrew Bentley"

With a teleplay by the iconic Richard Matheson, you know this Thriller has got to be good, & this episode is one of the best! The story starts with Uncle Amos, a practitioner of the dark arts, who commits suicide after securing his nephew's promise to guard his tomb from supernatural forces. It stars John Newland, who also directed, & is probably most well known as host of "One Step Beyond".

When evil was evil, good was good, and the lines were never blurred. Excellent everything! Casting, script, cinematography, music, acting, atmosphere, etc.. They don't make movies/shows like this anymore. Plot instead of CGI. Acting and story over blood and gore. Yes a simpler story for a more gentile time. Many may disagree with me. If you are among the few who see the world as I do, I am sure you will enjoy this picture.

A handy helping of cheese hosted by the cheese whiz-ard himself Boris Karloff. The plot, which is ridiculous, is unimportant. What really counts here is the hammy script (by Richard Matheson) and matching overacting, especially by John Newland whose major claim to fame was as host of the supernatural series "One Step Beyond." Best savored with large portions of popcorn and friends.

Just because something is old does not always mean it is good

I grew up watching Thriller, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits etc as a kid. Some are great but many do not hold up well at all. This is one of those. Bad script, bland acting, plodding pace, and some dumb character in a bad vampire cape that was out of date 20 years earlier than this episode. You'll just lose an hour of your life watching this.

Fun film overall. Was looking for more hammer-like films, this satisfied that I think.
