Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Before he created the seminal superhero Doc Savage in 1932, Missouri writer LESTER DENT (1904-1959) mastered most of the pulp-fiction genres popular at the dawn of the Great Depression. Breaking into the field with a string of aviation-centered adventure stories, Dent quickly branched out into other sub-genres, penning Westerns inspired by his upbringing in Wyoming and Oklahoma, acclaimed hard-boiled detective mysteries, and briefly, several so-called airwar tales set during World War I. Hate Hop belongs to what its practitioners dubbed yammering-gun pulp yarns because they invariably centered around bloody aerial dogfights of the War to End All Wars.

ROBERT GREENBERGER is a writer/editor/teacher with an extensive array of credits ranging from media tie-in fiction to adult non-fiction. He has worked for Starlog Press, DC Comics, Gist Communications, Marvel Comics, and Weekly World News. He was instrumental in relaunching Famous Monsters of Filmland as a brand and briefly served as News Editor at ComicMix.com. He is the co-creator of the Latchkeys and ReDeus series, and one of the founders of Crazy 8 Press. His novelization of Hellboy II: The Golden Army won the 2009 Scribe Award. He continues to work as a comic book historian when not writing original fiction. His more recent works include Chartwell Books' 100 Greatest Moments series, celebrating milestones in DC Comics' history. Additionally, he is a high school English teacher in Maryland, where he resides with his wife, Deb.
