📚A Throne of Feathers and Bone, book 2 in the Honey and Ice trilogy
✒by Shannon Mayer & Kelly St. Clare

NA, 🌶5/10, profanity, violence

There's a difference between a hook & a cliffhanger. I know this.  But damn if it doesn't feel like a cliffhanger! Wow! So.much.information!

This book was action from page 1 & continues until page 342! Of the many theories I had going into this, it took about 16% into the book to figure one out, & the spectacular way it was finally confirmed caused my ineffectual words at the end. Speechless.

This absolute tapestry of a world, from modern Alaska to the Fae island, to Underhill itself... amazing and rich and complex!
Love it!
As for Faolan and Kallik, they being a Seelie and an Unseelie, forever doomed to never be together, due to one dying if they give in to their magnetism... it was bittersweet, because they are connected on such a deep level. However, I seriously enjoyed the push and pull, the snark and humor, the flirting, the NEED they have for each other in the middle of their fae world going mad; it's intense. Not quite enemies to lovers, but has that feel.
As always, our badass heroine Kallik, with her humor, snark, and loyalty to FRamily, those who you MAKE your family, make me love her so much. She's willing to fix the madness and open Underhill again, over clearing her name of the accusations thrown at her in A Court of Honey and Ash.
Faolin has so much more to discover about him, his revelations and Kallik's reactions made me mushy. I feel like something has to give for the two of them.
And these side characters,  as they become more fleshed out, I absolutely want more about her BFF Cinth's life!  The Oracle went from being one I was angry with, to one I enjoyed immensely. And don't get me started on the gentle giant with all the avatars!
Oh, and then there's the twists & betrayals... gah, I need more! January is not getting here fast enough!

3.0 out of 5 starskallik of all fae
Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2021
Let’s start off with, this was a decent book.
There are things I would change.
The main Characters are Supposedly 24, however I felt like the book was written around 17yo. Definitely immature spots throughout.
Also the author is obsessed with breast I’m not real sure why. First it was Cinths breast, than Kallik took her shirt off and I don’t think she ever put it back on. Weird.

I hate how everyone had the answers for her, but it all had to be a mystery. It seem like a big waste of time honestly her learning these lessons because when the final battle happened she blew it quickly.

Lan also gets on my nerves throughout this. entire book. He’s a bully, He treats Kallik like she’s under him,He’s very standoffish and just rude.

There are definitely parts that I liked in here. The talk more about the oracle her friend Devon can you find out her Ruby really is.
Well I read the next book, sure, But I hope they all grow up just a little bit more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average Fae

Kelly St Clares world building is second to none. Without boring us to death with the details she creates the most in depth world building I have ever seen from an author. It is like slipping into a warm bath - cozy and warm and relaxing. THEN the story hits you and this is not you typical boy meets girl falls in love. This is anger and hurt mixed with fire and Ice. Shannon delivers her quirky take on the characters making them relatable to at least one person we all know (or have dated). These authors together have an amazing series taking you on a winding adventure you never want to end. If you love Fae but hate the overtold story plot you will LOVE A Throne of Feathers and Bone. 5 stars are well earned here and can not wait to see where book 3 takes us!!

Definitely read book one before starting this book so you know start of Allis journey. If you thought the first part of Allis story was wrought with action, mystery, deception and forbidden romance, hang on for this epic story. Alli is saved at the end of book one, to find herself on another journey for answers. A search for underhill, the Oracle and a cure for the faes madness. All of this while also exploring her forbidden love for Lan and her feelings for Drake. Buckle up for one wild ride, stock up on supplies, call in to work because once you start, you are not going to want to put this book down till you turn that last page. Very anxious to see how the story continues.

Again you can’t even tell where one author ends and another begins!!
This story follows Kallik and Faolan as they escape from certain death hanging over Alli’s head in the seelie courts. Can she open Underhill and prove her innocence? It’s her job to expose the truth, whatever that truth may be, and believe me it is NOT the truth you are thinking or expecting!
My daughter and I read together, and she has always sat on the opposite side of the line as me on certain characters, I won’t give it away, but she ended up being quite right. Although, I was definitely right on Alli’s heritage!
Such an amazing book, you won’t want to put it down.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book and have read it three times since receiving it - the story never gets old!

Nuanced, with fun dynamics in the relationships and a slow burn romance framed with every plot twist your heart can handle.
This is the kind of read that has you anxiously watching your read percentage, not wanting the story to end but also desperate to find out what next.

I personally love all the different paranormals that find their way into this story through the Underhill connection and am firmly a fan of fae tales after these two books!

I only hope the finale is as good as the first two, because they were awesome, romance, comic relief (gotta love that Oracle, and Our heroine herself as well). Exciting, fun plot. I don’t know why I haven’t read these sooner, I plowed through them between reading and listening to the audiobook while doing my kindergartener’s Valentines. Good thing I had stuff to stay up and get done, otherwise I probably just would have been up all night plowing through.
Fun world building, creative plot, all around good read❣️

This book was a wild ride, and so amazing! We pick up where book on left off, with Kallik still looking for the true entrance to Underhill. But the madness is getting worse and affecting more Fae by the day. Kallik must find out what is causing the madness and find a way to stop it. This book has so many twists and omg moments it’s a wild ride. And yes the love between Kallik and Faolan is so swoon worthy, I loved it! I can’t wait to read the next book in this awesome series. I highly recommend this book to fans of fantasy romance.

I absolutely loved this second book in the Honey and Ice series!!!! Kallik and Lan had sparks flying throughout the whole book! Their bond is fated, and they’re truly meant for each other, they just have to realize it! I love them so much together and ship them so hard! So many, many, many secrets revealed in this book, that now I’m dying for the next book in this series!!! I can’t wait to read about what happens next with Alli and Faolan and her fae people!!! I know it’s going to be amazing!

I typically don’t have the attention span to read multiple novels about the same people/couple. It bores me as it’s drawn out w/ too little excitement to keep me going. However, I just finished this 2nd book & now impatient waiting for the 3rd. As the 1st was exciting the second is very eye opening. It doesn’t so much stop on a Cliffhanger, but more literally moving the pieces of the board around yet again. I can’t wait for the next. The depth of the entire book is fabulous & I was never bored.

Twists and turns like vines wrapping around a pole you never know which way things are going to go.
Mind blowing revelations for our MC within this book.
Kallik and Lan's relationship grows throughout the story.
I started reading in the evening, I had 3 chapters to go when I looked at the time, 3am!! But I couldn't stop I had to finish, to find out some truths and answers, and now I'm left with more questions needing new answers. I am looking forward to where you will take me next.
