I enjoyed the authenticity wrapped in humor and nonsense. I felt more emotions than I anticipated...and was pleased with every feel.
Also so stoked that Mr. Malco committed to this project and changed the game for filmmakers. Find YOUR way, it might not look like tradition. Hold your form and rock with it anyway.

The Truth is best served with Humor

Romany Malco has found a way to shine some light on the ugly truths of our Prison System in a way that's palatable by using humor. While this is absolutely a comedy, it makes you think, it makes you even a bit sad at certain parts of the movie, but he's found a way to again wrap the sadness in some humor. It is a form of social criticism. Be prepared to laugh out loud and then turn around and feel so much empathy for Tijuana Jackson that you just want to hug him and tell him it'll be alright. You will get emotionally invested.
Kudos to Romany Malco for writing, directing, editing and starring in this movie. He's managed to gives us a great product without the backing of the major production companies. I call it the little Indie Movie that could....

The absolute breadth and importance of this film is unmistakable, Romany Malco should be applauded for this work of art. Those who have been to prison or know of someone who has can absolutely identify with this film. There are so many layers to the work that it will be weeks until I can totally dissect it down to its rawest form.

Congrats!! 5 Stars

Amazing film Mr. Malco! It was hilarious and inspirational with the added dynamic of a strong family bond withstanding anything. Thank you for that! I can definitely relate to certain aspects of the film.

In a time when we could use laughter, hope, family and forgiveness, man did this movie hit the mark. Malco's talent in every facet of film shines and the supporting cast is especially good as well.

Great film

Funny, real and multi layered film about real life struggles, family, determination and living a life of purpose instead of chasing success. "How great can success be, if you are the only one benefiting from it?" Great film by Romany Malco!

I enjoyed this film so much! It’s clever, lighthearted and very relatable. Tijuana Jackson has so many traits that a lot of us have; We’ve made mistakes and know what it takes to create a new life, but sometimes our old behaviors and over-trusting others can set us back. Tijuana Jackson is me, my cousin, my friend, and probably someone you know too. This movie is pretty inspiring, and very funny! I loved that Romany Malco took his Tijuana Jackson character and developed a film, especially considering that the Tijuana Jackson character has been around for a long time (check out his YouTube channel). This is one of those movies that you can watch with your Auntie and Grandma and enjoy some family time and truly laugh and feel good. Thanks for this great film Romany Malco, especially at a time that I really needed it! 💚

Movie has a lot of heart and laughs

Romany Malco is Tijuana Jackson. He is released from prison and wants to be a motivational speaker. A college film student played by Shannon Dang is making a documentary about him in this comedy.

I’ve always liked Malco and he plays Tijuana with a lot of character and heart. They put him into a lot of funny situations like when he asks the film maker whether she sleeps with black men or when he returns home and the weeds in the front yard are taller than he is. It’s also got a family dynamic as Tijuana returns to his home with his mom, sister and little nephew. It’s surprisingly good for a low budget film that Malco wrote, directed and produced.
