It is a rare couple that has not experienced some aloneness or difficulties in their marriage. When you become housemates and just aren't connecting anymore it takes a lot of work and sensitivity to jump that life hurdle. I loved how this was developed and handled with a Christian spirit and love.
I don't care that he never slept with the woman. He kissed her, wanted to leave his wife for her at one point, lied about his time with her, spent more time with her than his wife, and wanted to sleep with her. That to me is cheating! He had an affair!
Well written with good characters and, to me, a believable plot. I think the book is filled with OCF errors - not necessarily typos - and I find it hard to ignore them. To me, they stand out and give a jarring effect on my pleasant time reading. Apostrophes seem to have disappeared for the most part - cant, wont, wed, etc. etc. I was able to ignore some of them, but some, like wed, I had to mentally check to see which word was appropriate. For I'll - there was Ell or E11 very often. Too bad it wasn't cleaned up better.
Another great story by Kingsbury. I definitely recommend it. I loved the whole family. The cast of characters is very well done. Abby and John are on the verge of divorce, and on the very night they are going to announce it to their grown children, their daughter Nicole and fiancé Matt announce their engagement. What on earth did Abby and John do? Sorry, that's all I'm divulging! To tell you more would spoil a very emotional and complicated story!
Karen Kingsbury is an amazing Christian author. She can pull you into the midst of her story and keep you spellbound through the entire book. This was a great story written about the average busy Christian family that finally realizes they've moved forward in life and left their God and church out and have gotten caught up in the world and the world's temptations. But finally realize their need to return to God and to pull their marriage back together and continue to serve their God.
First I have to say that all of Karen Kingsbury's books, and I have read many, are excellent. Karen tackels topics that are often difficult. This book is one of those. What happens when a Christian couple has serious problems with their marriage? Karen's characters are so real you can feel their pain and frustration. The problems are not sugar coated. Yet there is hope as you see God's hand at work. My only problem with this book is that I feel as though I have become friends with these characters, and even though the book can stand alone, I defiantly had to buy the sequel to see what happens next in this couple's life.
Karen Kingsbury has always been a great author that I have enjoyed her books. I don't think there has been 1 I didn't enjoy. Marriage is a two way commitment you got to work at it at times. God answers prayers always with verses of His Word. Years go by and we change but marriage is God's covenant for us to keep for a lifetime He doesn't believe in divorce. 5 star rating for her book.
Absolutely love Karen Kingsbury. She is the best Christian book author I've ever read. I bought this book to replace an old tattered one as I have her whole collection and eagerly look forward to her next book. She tells a great story and there is always a great underlying message in her books. I cannot put one of her books down once I start reading it. She is awesome and I highly recommend her! And her series are great - you never have to wonder how things end up.
I've read everything that Karen Kingsbury has written, including A Time to Dance in its earlier edition. It was good to read it again, but the experience was hampered by the many typos and incorrect punctuation and spacing that I'm assuming occurred when preparing text for Kindle. It was very distracting and I'm sure Karen is similarly disappointed. Is there any way that these errors can be fixed? Karen is one of my all time favorite authors and continues to write books that challenge, encourage, and inspire me.
