FERNANDO HERNÁNDEZ VÉLEZ
Pereira, Colombia, 1955. Sociólogo, poeta, traductor y subdirector por varios años de la Revista de Literatura Puesto de Combate. Egresado de la Ciudad Universitaria de Nueva York, Brooklyn College, 1986. Mención Honoraria en el concurso de poesía Glascock, celebrado en el Mount Holyoke College, Amherst, Massachussets, 1984. Fue alumno en el Brooklyn College de los poetas Allen Ginsberg y John Ashbery. Ha publicado los libros de poesía "Visitaciones", "Sombras de Agua", y como traductor "La Poesía de T.S. Eliot" y el libro de ensayos "T.S. Eliot Ensayos Selectos". Sus poemas han aparecido en varias revistas a nivel nacional como Puesto de Combate, Casa de Poesía Silva, Universidad de Antioquia, Luna de Locos, Iris y Mefisto. Ganador del concurso de poesía “Carlos Héctor Trejos Reyes” año 2014 en la ciudad de Riosucio, Caldas, con el libro Sombras de Agua. Recipiente de la Beca de Traducción del Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia, Agosto de 2018, con el libro Pachamama y el Hombre Jaguar del autor neozelandés Ron Riddell.
