First of all, I have to get the shipping out of the way. I ordered this wonderful book back in January but it took 2 months, in March, before I received it. It actually said it would be arriving in April but I'm thankful that it didn't take that long. I've ordered other books from Amazon before (usually arriving in a week or so) so I'm really confused as to why it took so long.. I'd say that it was well worth the wait though. Tara goes really into depth with a lot of the Urban Legends here which I REALLY love and appreciate. I'm obsessed with Urban Legend books so I've read quite a bit of them. The Authors usually don't go too much into detail pertaining to the backstory or coverage as Tara does here. It honestly makes me hope and wish that Tara would write other books about Legends from different cultures because there's so many mysterious stories out there that could benefit from this much research. I believe I read other reviews on how there were some grammatical mistakes in this book but I personally haven't noticed any. I'm not sure if I just overlooked them or maybe they were fixed for future prints of the book. But anyways, the book itself is divided into 6 categories. Supernatural, Society, Medical, Entertainment, Jokes, and Crime. This again is a nice touch as I went into the book expecting it to have nothing of the sort. The Urban Legends themselves seem to be the more well known ones. At the same time, a good half of the book had completely new ones that honestly were pretty terrifying to read. I was hooked from start to finish and look forward to purchasing Volume 2. Tara also has a YouTube channel if anyone wishes to support her there. I honestly can't recommend Toshiden Volume 1 enough!
Edit: I forgot to mention one of the other things I like most of all about this book. Every now and then during explanation/a break down on the Urban Legend, Tara has an interjection on the topic. I really like this because not only is she pretty funny, I think it gives more of a genuine approach that again other books/authors don't do. They state things clearly without input, which is fine of course, but these types of interjections always feel more fun to read through.
