Something isn't adding up, though, and she won't rest until she uncovers the truth - even if it's buried in his deep, dangerous kiss.
A passion she can't resist...
Jory will do anything to reunite with and save his brothers - even kidnap the gorgeous woman who's working to deactivate the deadly chips in their spines. But the forces determined to destroy his family won't let them go so easily. Keeping Piper alive is more than he bargained for - and so is his burning desire for her. But with every second bringing him closer to certain death, can he afford to lose himself in her hot and willing embrace?

Dear, tough, naïve, hopeful, brilliant Piper. This girl got her claws into me right from the start. Her deep down need to know who her father is and to believe he would have been a great father if only he had known she existed. The way Dr. Madison and the Commander played her like a puppet all the while she fought the strings. She may be naïve, but the girl’s not stupid. I loved seeing her open herself to the truth bit by bit. Her trust in Jory opening up at the same time. Even when she had every reason to be afraid of him, she just knew Jory would never hurt her.
Jory’s desperation to gain his freedom and find his brothers was so deep. Then Chase comes into the mix and the big brother aspect of his personality takes over. Where Jory has always been protective of his brothers, he’s also always been the baby of the family. It’s a whole new feeling for him to have young boys he feels responsible for. The interactions between Chase and Piper as the story goes on are so touching. It’s one thing to know the Dean brothers grew up with no maternal or paternal figure in their lives. To see a teen in the same situation those boys used to be in get to have people care about him, and how he reacts to that, is heart melting.
Like I said, I was a bit spoilerish in this review. I can’t say more without giving full on spoilers. Just know this story is a perfect ending to this part of the Dean brother’s story. I did things backward and read the Blood Brothers series first, so I know we’ll see these characters again. Do yourself a favor and read that series if you haven’t yet. It’s just as amazing as this one and adds a whole other layer to the overall story of these test tube soldiers.
Piper took a bit to like for me because she had a blinded daddy complex, was naive, and had a holier than thou attitude. I understand her need for her praise and love, but come on. Don't wear blinders to everything going on around you. Once she took the blinders off, I really began to like her.
What I really loved about the story was Jory. Jory is just oh so swoony, loving, charming, protective, and a complete sweetheart!
All in all, this was a phenomenal read and I'm sad to see the series come to an end.
I enjoyed the way they danced around, learning about each other and finally beginning to trust each other, while trying to survive in their crazy world.
In case you have not guessed by now I am dodging a ton of spoilers here, this book kept building and throwing in things I never saw coming. The interaction between Jory and Piper was excellent when they were talking but I lost one star for the overdone sex scenes. I wrestled with this because the reason for so much sex was that you got to remember these guys all think they are going to die in a few days due to a device set to explode and sever their spines (this is not a spoiler, if you are starting with this book this is a part of the plot in all 4 books) and they are making the most of their time with their chosen female love interests.
We get a lot of action, many surprises, some things I question and a great ending that would make a excellent action movie :) All the things those of us who have followed this series from book 1 have loved about it, the brotherly devotion to each other, the love for the women in their lives and the pure survival abilities they have shown over these 4 books is evident in this final book.
Bottom Line: It was great, the story was 5 Star but I spent too much time scanning through too many repetitive sex scenes taking up too many pages to give this a 5 Star rating. Highly recommended and for anyone new to this series I highly recommend you start at book 1 since there is an overarching story you need to understand in order to really appreciate these books.

Rebecca Zanetti, is one of the few authors that I have on my Drop Everything & Read list. Reason being, and the reason I have read every book that she has published to date:
She. Never. Disappoints.
Not once, I cannot think of a book by this author that I have finished and not loved, the only disappointment I ever feel is in the fact that I have inevitably then have to wait for her next release.
Total Surrender has been a book a long time in the making for most readers of this series, as soon as I knew there was potential for Jory being alive I wanted his story. This book is also the Pinnacle of the series as a whole, his brothers although settled in one sense with their hearts and their women, are still seeking the closure for their years of mistreatment at the hands of the Commander and Dr. Madison as well as looking for a way to remove issue of the microchips that are counting down the hours.
I loved it, as a reader you go through an awful lot of emotions with this one. If you have followed this series from the beginning like I have the Dean Brothers have almost become part of the family. I laughed, and oh did I cry, the emotions that have built up for these guys through the reading of the last three books really did come to the fore in Total Surrender and at points I actually had to put my Kindle down so I could have a little bit of an emotional melt down. But it was so good, I had my heart ripped out, re-inserted and restarted all in the reading of it.
I don’t want to give too much more away of the story if I am honest, if you have ever read a book by Rebecca Zanetti, you will understand just how much happens and can change within the space of a page or two. Pick up the book and enjoy the ride, you won’t be disappointed. This book offers resolutions, answers questions, raises new ones, gives you solutions to issues that have been prevalent throughout the previous books, you get endings, new beginnings and pretty much everything in between.
”Life is full of moments, and if you get a good one, take it.”
This book, the series, its characters and their stories are definitely a ’Good Moment’ for me, and I am sad to say goodbye. I hope it isn’t the end, as I said there are a few new beginnings in the pages as well, and a couple of loose ends that although not pivotal I would like to see tied up. I also think the epilogue for all four brothers offers the reader more of a ‘Happy For Now’ and it could definitely be extended to at least a novella to give us their ‘Happily Ever Afters’…
”I wish we had forever.”

"Jory doesn't get pissed - he gets even."
Jory Dean has spent two years in a coma at the clutches of the Commander and Dr. Madison whilst Shane, Matt and Nathan believe him dead. With the kill-chip detonation date a week away, he needs to crack the deactivation code and save his brothers. His helper comes in the form of Piper Oliver; a skilled hacker and intelligent lady who is torn between what she is being told by the Commander and Jory. Naturally the attraction builds between them and feelings are thrown into the mix.
"I have three days to live and I'm not playing anymore."
In comparison to his brothers, Jory got the short end of the romantic stick. Don't get me wrong, he and Piper had a sizzling chemistry bringing everything from fight to fiery passion, but this ultimately was The End and there was the entire continuity plot to tie-up. It was more than a romance; as the tension and anticipation built, I was held captive and with Matt, Nate, Shane and their ladies playing a huge part, I couldn’t have asked for much more; the reunion between the four of them was filled with so much emotion, I may have shed a little tear or two.
This is a series that must be read as such. It grabbed me from the very start, held on tight throughout becoming a firm favourite and one I will read again. And whilst I say it's with a heavy but happy heart that I say goodbye, there is part of me that would like to think that there will be more. Rebecca Zanetti has, in my opinion, left the door just wide enough open for more, and as much as I would have loved an epilogue set in the future, in not doing so it gives me hope that this isn’t the last we've seen of the Dean Brothers.
I love this series and I'm surprised at the low cost of the books. Rebecca Zanetti has a way of writing that draws you in, makes you really care about the characters, and has you still reading at silly times in the early morning.
Now I'm hoping a few more books might pop up in this series because I don't want it to be over!
I loved all the characters and the storyline wow!
Rebecca Zanetti a rock star of suspense......I hope This is not the end I want to read about the birth of the baby and discover whether their are any more brothers.
Thank you for giving me hours of pleasure reading these these books.
