WHAT A PIECE OF GARBAGE...

Jesus... what collection of Morons put this together? ..doesn't get more stupid. Quick sample: Client: "my name is..." Transporter: "No names!, its the first rule" Client: "oh, I was told you had rules from your previous clients" transporter: "who?".

Well, idiot, if you don't exchange names, how the hell would you recognize even if she told you, why would you even ask??. Then he takes important calls in the middle of dinner with no vetting whatsoever, his Dad is supposed to be a hot shot CIA operative with decades of experience on the field, yet a dumb chick get him in the trunk of her car with a housewife cheap trick. The transporter is supposed to be a super fighter yet, when they are done with the job one of the chicks just points the gun at him at close range and he is helpless, then she puts it "away" for Christ sake behind her skirt to pat him down and he stays helpless like a little girl. That's just the tip of the iceberg I am trying to forget all of it. But basically a few talent-less grade preschoolers got together and put together bad acting, expensive car crashes, HD with slow motions shots, a bad story and shook it all together to see if a movie would come out, nothing but vomit came out so that is why we never saw the lead actor ever again. The sad part about this that, at some studio, somewhere, a few 'executives' got together and signed off on this thing, looked at each other and agreed with each other and gave the money to do it. I would not give these worthless idiots a job as a dishwasher in a restaurant.

Not "Transporter"
Verified purchase
I am a HUGE fan of Jason Statham. I am also a fan of Transporter since I watched the first one in the theater. This cannot be called a "transporter" in any way. Sure it has everything the Statham ones did. Cars, damsel in distress, a simple transport that becomes all but. They recast the character, brought in his dad, AND completely ignored anything from the previous 3 movies.

Choreography is little compared to the others. They are using the modern style of "more camera shots = more movement" instead of actually focusing of the unique (and sometimes hilarious) fighting from the original 3.

I gave it 2 stars for the chase scenes (only thing that makes this worth it honestly). But the fighting, story, and new actor don't do the character justice.

They could have easily made him be someone the Jason Statham character trained to carry on his job. But no, they tried to completely recast the character as someone else and hope he can do it justice.

Big 'ol nope from me!

The diet coke version of Transporter

Good fun and Ed Skrein has a good screen presence. He has played in Deadpool, Game of Thrones and Midway so he knows his way around. I loved seeing Ray Stevenson (The Bunker) as the transporter's dad. Love him.
This series is the creation of Luc Besson who produced this version and helped to write it as well. Director Camille Delamarre also directed Brick Mansions which you may have seen.
OK, Skrein is not up to the standard in the complex fight scenes that Jason Statham has established. We can't do much about that. Not many actors can pull those kinds of scenes off successfully. And every cop car seems to jump and flip around in the air for no good reason while the transporter makes his escape.
But aside from that, the movie holds together well. The bad guys are Russians who hold women in the bondage of prostitution so we don't like them very much. There is a lot of action, chances, fights, shootings, complex poisonings, cool stunts, girls taking off some of their clothes, and all-around plenty to keep our eyes busy. It is fun to watch.
"Transporter Refueled" has a surprising PG-13 rating rather than an R rating. This is because there are no naked people and the language is clean for gangsters. It runs for one hour and 36 minutes.
Fun and well executed but does not match the Statham versions.

Whispers

Can't stand these tough guys who are so tough they speak only in whispers.
Guess i can't see how whispering makes anyone tougher than anyone else.
In all my 70 years I've never known anyone who talks like that.
20 minutes in and I'm done with this one.

I accidentally added this because I thought it was Transporter 2 without really looking at the thumbnail of the cover. The blonde killer girl villain from that one I thought was on the cover of this Transporter Reloaded. I likeded Transporter 2 so much that I bought it on DVD and it looked cinematically pretty good for a 2005 or 2006 film. Unfortunatelt went missing.

Anyway I never planned on seeing Transporter Reloaded. I feel when you replace the fine tuned charisma of the main from certain action series it usually bombs or isn't as good because it's usually done by execs as a quick money grab. Jason Bourne went from Matt Damon to Jeremy Renner (he wasn't even bad but his film wasnt as good as the first 3). To a lesser degree Hitman was like that too.

To me Ed Skrein looked too intense to be a transporter. Like his face is fine for that intense that runway model look like Jeremy Meeks or Ben Stiller 'The Look' from Zoolander. It's really distracting coupled with his accent. Im not well-rounded on deciphering all the British accents out there but his sounds a little more 'rough' that it doesn't fit the debonair charming kind im used to. Maybe it is the same as Stathams but dont sound like it. So that and his face are offputing for me to even want to seek to watch Transporter Reloaded.

However I accidentally put it on and was in the mood for a nice light, easy to follow action movie. The film itself was actually pretty decent. It had a few good car chase scenes, acting was fine, and was relatively fast pacewise. However the thing that sucked was the writers on this film. Lot of bad dialog (hope it was worth it that your buddies died now kiss kiss), terrible 'hero one-liners", bad character personality-swings that aren't congruent with characters, bad actions taken that arent congruent with characters. The writing was really painful. The bad guy calls your phone, the callerID literally says Dad, you answer it "hey dad", bad guy greets you, you literally recognize he is greeting you, you talk for about 30 seconds or so about bad guy things with the bad guy, he finally puts your dad on the phone letting you know he has kidnapped him...and that's when you decide to scream " noooo" and slam the brakes.....what?

Movie is prob 2.4 or 2.5 stars but whatever

Just not quite on par

I have to say the Transporter franchise follows the same plot for each of the movies, he gets hired, things do not go to plan, and he ends up saving the girl (and killing lots of people along the way); oh and there are lots of car chases. I can't say the acting was any better or worse than the earlier movies that started Jason Statham. However, I think the plot twists were not as obvious in the earlier movies.

Really one of the biggest turn offs for me was not the script or the actors, but rather the beginning of movie felt more overtly like one long Audi commercial (may there be no doubt who helped fund the movie). Just set the wrong tone for the movie and for that I rate this a 2 star.

Awful movie, Woke at it's worst!
Verified purchase
Ed Skrein was woefully miscast in this move. Awful script, terrible dialogue. I watched Ed Skrein in Game of Thrones and he was lovely. The writers, all 3 of them including Luc Besson, must of taken the following of The Transporter for granted and thought they could write drivel in place of a plot. Ed Skrein is no Jason Statham. The relationship between Skrein's character and his father is just awful. I'm not going to go into details of the plot but buyer beware. You may not care about the money to buy or rent this movie but you might care about the time you spent watching this instead of doing something else. I know I did!
