Intellectually I knew that conversion therapy is cruel and psychologically damaging, but I still wasn't prepared for how brutal this movie would be. I assumed that her parents were incredibly misguided, but meant well. I was shocked to learn that they saw her a few months into her imprisonment. They literally saw the evidence of her abuse on her body and did nothing. How could they leave her there after knowing this? How in the world did they reconcile after this? I'm horrified and for that reason, I have to recommend extreme caution when deciding to watch it.

This was a very good movie and extremely sad for me to watch! How could a parent be against their child so much that they send them to complete strangers miles away to try to change THEIR child?! Must watch!
