Sizer Bin Tested, Sizer Bin Approved

I started traveling more for work and really needed to upgrade my carry-on luggage. After doing extensive research and reading many reviews from multiple websites, I settled on the Crew Versapack Spinner because of its versatility and ability to maximize space. A couple reviews stated that it was to large to be carried on, would not fit in the sizer bin, and owners would be forced to check it at the gate. This made me very nervous, as I really didn't want to be embarrassed in front of a bunch of total strangers when told to check my bag.

Those who say it is too large to be carried on are not telling the truth. In fact, it fits perfectly in the sizer bin (see picture) and every overhead compartments I have encountered, and airline staff have never looked twice at me. This is a fantastic piece of luggage that rolls smoothly, is built beautifully, and holds a lot of stuff (which is nice when bringing back gifts for the kids). I highly recommend this.

Airlines won't allow it because of its size

Important thing first: At the very least, neither United nor Frontier airlines will allow this as a checked bag without an additional fee, because their limit is 62 linear inches (length+width+height) and this behemoth is 64 in the unexpanded configuration. That said, it's clearly a great piece of luggage: I have two other TravelPro suitcases that have served me well, but I wanted to switch from a rollaway to a spinner. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not checking current airline regs before buying it, so now I'm stuck with a $300 (yeah, they knocked the price down 15% two days after I bought it, which I felt was a bonus) suitcase that I can effectively never use.

Wow: amazing quality, durability & layout

My wife and I travel a lot for pleasure in business. I noticed that a lot of the airline crews used this brand as their luggage and we thought we would give it a try since we’ve had many different brands.

We now have four pieces of luggage from Travelpro and have a had one warranty claim for damage during handling by the airline. The design of their carry-on suitcases has such a great design you could probably pack for one week in them if you were very careful in choosing what you brought along. All of their suitcases are extremely hardy and well-made with an interior design better than any we have seen. The self aligning magnet roller wheels are extraordinary in real life function for being able to push the suitcase upright sideways or pull behind you.

The company stands behind their warranty as we had a damaged zipper from the airlines and after sending in pictures with our information Travelpro had a new bag in the mail to us within 48 hours=No Charge! The customer service was impeccable and very responsive with a quick timeframe turn around. We are now TravelPro customers for life.

I love this luggage. It's easy to organize things to make them accessible. It's well-made and is holding up well on the 3-4 flights we have used it on since we purchased it. I have little doubt it will age well.

I would have given 5 stars, but we had an interesting situation recently. We were on a flight with a 2+ hour layover at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. It was raining and apparently our baggage was out in the rain for an extended period (shame on Skyport or Southwest Airlines, whichever was the case). Some water made its way into the main compartment of the luggage, apparently through the zipper. There was not a lot, but enough that we had to take everything out and use a fan to dry out the outside and insides too. The outside was soaked, and there was a small amount of dampness in one of the outside zipper pockets, and I am not sure if the moisture came through the wall material or the zipper.

Although, this won't help zipper leaks, I am considering using Scotchguard on the outside to prevent future soakings.

My flight attendant daughter recommended this luggage for me as I’ve been a dyed in the wool Samsonite girl for years. I find this luggage to be very sturdy easy to manipulate which is important to me because running through the airport carrying bag is not happening. So I need to roll that easy. I got the navy blue one with the leather trim super cool. Anyway I really like them

Handle doesn't go up far

I bought this bag after reading the great reviews. I'm very disappointed. I ordered the extra compartment to zip in, and it is so small, there is no way to zip it in. The site states that the handle raises high enough for someone 6' 2" to easily use. My husband is 6"2" and there is no way this handle works for him. It only raises 11 inches, so I don't know if this is the way it's supposed to be or if it's broken. The zippers catch easily and do not go around corners well. Hope to return.

I’ve used this on a few trips so far and it’s great! I had it really full on one flight and it was hard-near impossible- to fit in the overhead bin. I kind of wish the laptop insert part could be removed. I don’t have a need for it and it takes up space.

Sturdy with a super-strong pull handle

Costs more than some of the competition, but the push/pull handle on many such bags is not study. We cruise a lot and need bags that we can push along on its four wheels. This luggage has that feature, and is still light enough, and sturdy enough, for our needs.
