I loved Stuart's recent collection "The Moonlit Road" and this one was very good as well. The chilling tell of Mr. Barney really sticks with you and there are many tales that bring you back to childhood days, but in a twisted way. Put it on your radar the next time you want a collection of scary stories.

Having read both of William Stuart's collections, I'd say he's improving. There's a good variety of content here, with stories about ghosts, plagues, a handful of original monsters, and of course, good old humans doing effed up stuff with no supernatural help required. Most are dark, but a couple are funny--one has a nice twist related to a classic cartoon that I didn't see coming. The audio play at the end is one of the best stories and good for a change in style, as well, even if The NoSleep Podcast version is better--but that's a given, since it's written with that medium in mind. All in all, great stuff!

Some of the stories are okay, however once you get to the endings and they're rushed you realize how much filler babbling you actually just read. I'd give it more of a 2.5 out of 5, but I won't be reading any more stories from this author.
