About the authors
Michael Bunker is a USA Today Bestselling author, off-gridder, husband, and father of four children. He lives with his family in Central Texas, where he reads and writes books...and occasionally tilts at windmills. In November of 2015, Variety Magazine announced that Michael had sold a film/tv option for his bestselling novel Pennsylvania to Jorgensen Pictures. JP is currently developing Pennsylvania for production into a feature film. As of May 2019 Patrick Tatopoulos is slated to direct the Pennsylvania feature film.
Michael has been called the "father" of the Amish/Scifi genre but that isn't all that he writes. He is the author of several popular and acclaimed works of dystopian sci-fi, including the Amazon top 20 overall bestselling Amish Sci-fi thriller Pennsylvania, the groundbreaking dystopian vision Hugh Howey called "a brilliant tale of extra-planetary colonization." He also has written the epic post-apocalyptic WICK series, the Amish/Robot thriller Brother, Frank, as well as many nonfiction works, including the non-fiction Amazon overall top 30 bestseller Surviving Off Off-Grid. Michael was commissioned by Amazon.com through their Kindle Worlds and Kindle Serials programs to write the first ever commissioned novel set in the World of Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle.
In late April of 2015, Michael released his novel Brother, Frank to fantastic reviews, and Brother, Frank is currently the target of film/tv option negotiations.
Michael has been featured on NPR, HuffPost Live, Molly Green, and Ozy.com, along with hundreds of print, radio, and podcast interviews.
On November 21st, 2014 Tales From Pennsylvania, a fanfic short story anthology featuring 10 top speculative fiction authors writing fanfic short stories in the world of Michael Bunker's Pennsylvania, was released in paperback and e-book format. More than twenty authors have been (or will be) writing fanfic in the world of MB's Pennsylvania.

“James A. Moore is the new prince of grimdark fantasy. His work is full of dark philosophy and savage violence, desperate warriors and capricious gods. This is fantasy for people who like to wander nighttime forests and scream at the moon. Exhilarating as hell."
—Christopher Golden, New York Times bestselling author of SNOWBLIND and ARARAT
“Gripping, horrific, and unique, James Moore continues to be a winner, whatever genre he’s writing in. Well worth your time.”
– Seanan McGuire, New York Times bestselling author of the InCryptid and Toby Daye series
James A. Moore’s, The Last Sacrifice, the 1st book in The Tides of War series, delivers on every level. A pulse quickening dark fantasy ripe with fascinating, multifaceted heroes and villains, and a vein of the horrific that barely hides, squirming just below the surface of it all. I can’t wait to see where this goes in Book 2.
Thomas E. Sniegoski – New York Times Best Selling author of The Fallen series, and the Remy Chandler books.
"You emerge from any Moore novel feeling like you've spent some time in that world––traumatised, beaten up, bloodied from battle––and The Last Sacrifice is no exception. Brilliantly imaginative, intricately drawn, this is a novel and an experience you won't forget in a hurry." - Tim Lebbon, author of The Silence and Relics
“THE LAST SACRIFICE is brilliant, devious, dark and compelling. This is epic fantasy at its very best. Highly recommended!” –Jonathan Maberry, NY Times bestselling author of KILL SWITCH and MARS ONE
JAMES A. MOORE is the author of over forty novels, including the critically acclaimed Fireworks, Under The Overtree, Blood Red, Blood Harvest, the Serenity Falls trilogy (featuring his recurring anti-hero, Jonathan Crowley) Cherry Hill, Alien: Sea of Sorrows and the Seven Forges series of novels. He has twice been nominated for the Bram Stoker Award and spent three years as an officer in the Horror Writers Association, first as Secretary and later as Vice President.
Never one to stay in one genre for too long, James has recently written epic fantasy novels in the series SEVEN FORGES (Seven Forges, the Blasted Lands, City of Wonders and The Silent Army). He is working on a new series called The Tides Of War. The first book in the series The Last Sacrifice, came out this last January and the sequel, Fallen Gods, is due out in late December. Pending novels also include A Hell Within (a Griffin & Price Novel) co-written with Charles R. Rutledge and an apocalyptic Sci-Fi novel tentatively called Spores. Why be normal?
Being a confirmed Luddite, he is working up the nerve to plunge completely into the electronic publications age.
James R. Tuck writes books and tattoos professionally. He used to throw people out of bars for money.
Risen from the hills of North Carolina, Jay Requard is an award-winning fantasy author known for “heroes with genuine emotions and concerns for the word they live in” facing off against the darkest powers with little more than love, courage, steel, and magic to set things right. From the pulse- pounding heists of Thief of Destiny to the dark desert romance of Death & Dust and other tales of wonder, readers have noted his modern take on the genre feels like “diving into new hero mythology.”

Mr Bunker has created a tale about time travel that captured my imagination. Not since I read Orson Scott Card's 'Lost Boys' has a story stirred a sense of intrigue and left me with an "ohhhh" at the end like this did. And like Card's 'Lost Boys' started out as a short story, I would love to see Bunker's story expanded to a full length novel.
Mr Bunker's story was worth every cent of the cost of the book alone. The rest of the shorts in the anthology are like freebies, 'Just Along for the Ride.'
Although Lansdale is not in this anthology, I think that concept and spirit permeate this anthology. These stories do not flinch. They dig into criminal worlds, telling taut stories that kept me engaged throughout.
As you can see from the cover, each story here is inspired by a classic "outlaw country" song - whether by title alone or riffing on the lyrics as well. The tales run the gamut from law enforcement point-of-view to criminal p.o.v. Criminals within criminals, good cops who might use questionable methods, meth biker gangs, alpaca farms, dog fights, booze running, war veterans, jobs and drug deals gone wrong, lovers who are no good for one another - they're all here. One of the anthology's strongest points is its variety.
These nineteen tales of inspired outlawry are well worth the read, especially if you enjoy crime fiction and/or outlaw country.
