Tristan Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Tristan Mulligan knows how to get under my skin.
He says this is his town and that I don’t belong.
He says I’ll get eaten alive here.
He’s arrogant and condescending and insanely sexy.
He’s also a criminal.
I knew better than to start something with him.
I did it anyway.
Tristan might shatter my heart. He might destroy my future. And there's something dangerously explosive about the way we are together.
You can warn me about him all you want.
Everyone else has.
Just don’t be surprised when I won’t listen.
Whether I'm ready to admit it or not, I'm already his.

I have been an avid fan of the Gentry's for years. I feel with each new book Ms. Brent gives us, we are able to gain more insight into this family.
What I loved most about this book was the push and pull between Tristan and Cadence. The will they, won't they dynamic is very satisfying. While Tristan, in my opinion, was very difficult to like, Cadence is simply a breath of fresh air. Her spirit, her vibe, her determination, make her one of the strongest Gentry women. I know Tristan was written to be unlikeable. He is rude, inconsiderate and selfish but he does redeem himself, in the best possible way. The reader gets to go on this journey of self-discovery with him, which makes his redemption that much sweeter. The chemistry between them was scorching.
I also really enjoyed the scenery of this book. Where other stories take place in Phoenix and surronding areas, Emblem provided an amazing backdrop, as if it was an additional character.
The writing was consistent and set at just the perfect pace.
If you have enjoyed in any of the other Gentry stories, this is a must read!
When Cadence Gentry returns to teach English in the failing and depressing town of Emblem, she may be in over her head. But armed with the knowledge of wanting to help people better themselves, like her family did years past, she could never have expected to clash heads with her brother-in-law Tristan Mulligan. Gah!! This story had heart and fireworks and I never wanted it to end. I love how both Tristan and Cadence saw things in one another that no one else saw and how their love and respect for one another came right off the pages! This story was fantastic! I seriously can not wait for Jedson and Leah!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
This latest installment is between Cord amd Saylor's daughter, Cadence, and Tristan Mulligan, brother to Curtis in "Turn." There isn't as much angst as I thought there would be for Tristan. There is insight to his troubles but not the edginess we usually see in Cora's characters.
Cadence is a young hopeful trying to make a difference in her parents' hometown. The town features the anguish this time versus the character. (It would have just been wrong for one of Cord and Saylor's offspring to have had a bad background!). Tristan is the black sheep of the Mulligan brothers, carrying on Curtis's previous bad-boy life (to a degree), and just going thru the motions of life.
The connection between Cadence and Tristan was electric. As the story continued, I thought there would be drama in their fire but it was slow and steady. While there was a conflict for them to overcome, it's really overcome without fanfare.
I enjoyed this very much but it drew in more characters for the town. The town was the real story for me. The stage is set in this book for more from Emblem.
I hope Cora's intentions here are to breathe life into the ruins she created for the brothers to rise from. It would just be icing to me that their descendants make a difference in the future and the town heals. Lol, what can I say? I'm an eternal optimist!
Tristan’s brother is married to Cadence’s sister and he has tried to convince his brother that there are other options than the life he is leading. He has chosen to stay in Emblem on the gray side of the law until Cadence comes barreling into town and has him wondering if he could have something more.
There is no denying the chemistry between them and it is only a matter of time before a relationship develop but will the good girl be able to show the bad boy that he is a better man than even he realizes?
Full of heat, humor and emotion it is always fun to catch up with the Gentry’s.
Another Mulligan boy falls hard for another Gentry girl or is it the other way around?!! Either way they both have fallen hard for one another. Sparks fly right away, and just like their sister & brother before them.... they are opposites in many ways but yet perfect for one another with the same kind of giving heart. They also reminded me of Cadence’s parents, which means they are perfect for one another. Looking forward to the next book in the series, have a feeling that Emblem has many stories to be told.

We've met both Tristan and Cadence in previous books by Cora so I had an inkling of their characters but this book brings them front and centre and gives them an amazing love story.
I devoured the book in less than a day. I can't wait for more stories from my favourite family.
