The last Holden brother, Colt, was introduced in the previous story. Colt finds himself the only person to walk away from a three-car accident which kills 5 people, the drunk driver and a family of four. He cannot live with the guilt of it even though he was told that he was not at fault. His guilt puts him back at bull riding until he is injured and has to return home to recuperate.

Annie has the custody of her nephew, Leo. As her sister was dying, she told Annie who Leo’s father was and told her she must keep that secret. But after a fire almost killed her and would have left Leo to be in foster care, she went to see if Colt Holden would be a good father to the child, he never knew he created.

Annie and Colt do not hit it off and right from the beginning the sparks fly. Some of them are good sparks but some are not. Annie has to decide if Colt is worthy to be called Leo’s father. When Colt does find out, he has to decide if he will accept Leo as his son or not.

The story is full of drama and continues to show the affects of alcohol on the lives that it touches. Can Annie and Colt actually come to an agreement about how to handle the fact that Leo is hero worshipping a man that he doesn’t know is his father. It is really good story that keeps you glued to the pages to see what will happen next.

She finally told him and together they tried to make it work. With the posse, the nephew be and getting to know one another and each their baggage things came around for them.

Loved the ending to the Holden boys series. Kurt, Jess and Colt found women to love them. Colt and Annie story was one of healing. Both needed a family. They also needed to be a family for Leo. Colt had two brothers and two sister in laws to love him. Annie and Leo needed that too. Will read more by this author soon.

Her sister comes to town to tell him after almost dying in a fire. Another example of how God makes something good out of some bad situations. A must read !

I am a hopeless romantic. I love these simple stories with happy ending. The Christian truths in them are simple and basic. Forgiving others and wrong done so the roots of bitterness done rob you of the acceptance of God's love and grace toward you. God is involved in your life and has planned things in your life for good. Prayers can change lives. Nothing you haven't heard before. Every cowboy is a hunk and girl is a beautiful. Their feelings of love intense and kisses rock them to their core, curl their toes. Is it realistic probably not. Will it happen to most people in the real world most likely not. But if you want to escape to a world where this does happen . Where earth shattering love can happen in mear weeks then these books are for you. If you want gritty down and dirty reality, where people are a mess and their love is even messier then look somewhere else. You won't here.
