“Quinn Maguire has grown up believing that she knows the truth about her complicated childhood. But when her mother dies shortly after revealing an earth-shaking family secret, everything changes in an instant. Kay Bratt beautifully draws the story of a daughter returning to Maui—the enchanted land that she believes holds the key to her past—where she unlocks a promising future she never could have imagined. Full of secrets, love and gorgeous settings, True to Me is the ultimate escape.” —Kristy Woodson Harvey, bestselling author of Slightly South of Simple
“Heartfelt and brimming with lively characters, True to Me is a poignant reminder of the meaning of family, the importance of truth, and the power of forgiveness. Perfect for fans of Christine Nolfi and Cathy Lamb.” —Sonja Yoerg, Washington Post bestselling author of True Places
“Bratt writes a beautiful tale of family which grabbed me from the very first page. Quinn, mourning the loss of her mother, must travel to Maui in search of her roots. Leaving behind her fiancé Ethan, she is drawn to the island’s rich history and the locals who welcome her into their world. Woven between the pages is the deep mystery of Quinn’s past, and the DNA test that leads her to a family she never knew. Bratt takes the reader on a heartfelt journey of family and forgiveness while Quinn teaches us about those we should let in and those we should let go. For at the very core of the novel is the rare gift of being true to one’s self.” —Rochelle B. Weinstein, USA Today bestselling author

The story is set in Hawaii. I wasn’t fond of Hawaii at all before I read the book. Through Kay Bratt’s knowledge of Hawaii, descriptions of the island, characters, and dialogue, I came to love Maui. The customs, the foods, the families, and the island itself all became alive with every word.
But unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and so must a book. “True to Me” is a masterful masterpiece. A contagious read. I highly recommend it for everyone. I can’t wait for the movie!!
“True to Me” is another Kay Bratt spectacular novel.

It's the story of Quinn, a young woman who has recently lost her mother, the only family she has ever known. But on her deathbed, her mother reveals that the person Quinn thought was her father was not really really her father. So Quinn sets out on a journey to find her true father, carrying her to her mother's home in Maui.
Quinn's search for her family unfolds in surprising ways, and in the process, she discovers who she really is as well.
The story is beautifully written, and although I've never physically been to Hawaii, now it seems as though I have. The book transports the reader to the island of Maui with vivid descriptions of the land and the people. As a bonus, I found out the author intends to write more books in this series! Yay!
Just finished this amazing book and I can honestly say it was amazing! I couldn’t put it down – in fact, I finished reading it in the middle of the night because I couldn’t stop reading!
This is a heartwarming story of Quinn and how her life is turned upside down when her Mother passes away and reveals her Father is not her biological parent. That is all she says …
You learn about acceptance, love, forgiveness, kindness and even some Hawaiian words!
A great read from a great author – highly recommend!

Things were good in Quinn's life. She had a great job, good friends and a fiance that adored her. When Quinn's mother passed away, she felt more of a pull to find out about her family. She was raised as an only child by a single mom that adored her. She now wanted to find out more. Who were her grandparents? Who was her father? Did they know about her? Did they reject her mother? So many questions and so few.
She was shocked when her mother's final words revealed that the father listed on her birth certificate was not her biiligical father. Her mother's last wish was to return to Maui.
So Quinn returned to Maui with her mother's ashes. Will she discover her mother's family and the answers to all of her questions? You will have to read for yourself.
What Quinn does find ia that she must learn to be true to herself and follow her dreams and find out who she really is. She must learn to stand on her own two feet.
