"You can feel Bear's magnetism through the page. How can Crystal (or readers) resist?" -- New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent
In TRULY, MADLY, WHISKEY...
Eight months is a long damn time to have the hots for a woman who keeps a guy at arm's length. But Crystal Moon is no ordinary woman. She's a sinfully sexy, sass-mouthed badass, and the subject of Bear Whiskey's midnight fantasies. She's also one of his closest friends.
Just when Crystal thinks she has her life under control, scorching-hot, possessive, aggressive, and fiercely loyal Bear pushes all her sexual buttons, relentless in his pursuit to make her his.
The more Bear pushes, the hotter their passion burns, unearthing memories for Crystal that are best kept buried. But there's no stopping the collision of her past and present, catapulting the two lovers down an emotionally charged road that has them questioning all they thought they knew.

Even though Bear Whiskey starts out as sexy and alpha as you can get, he slowly dissolved into something I wasn't all that fond of. He was almost too soft. Now, what girl wouldn't want a man who worships them? And he did worship Crystal...but he changed to the point where I was thinking to myself "where is Bear and why did he let this other guy take his place?"...and Crystal??? Hmmm...I wanted to applaud her and smack her in the same chapter. I understand she was traumatized and dealing with her past, BUT she was flipping and flopping more than a bi-polar catfish out of water.
Melissa Foster is absolutely one of my favorite authors and I'll read the next book...and the next...and the next...and I'm certain Bear will show up in future books. Hopefully, he'll find his alpha backbone before then.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone...it's just not one of my favorites.
I love that Melissa Foster always makes me feel happy, and wanting more, at the end of her books. More of the story, the atmosphere around them, the family, and well, yeah, the hero. Melissa's heroes are the protective alphas of my dreams, with a heart of gold, and hot everywhere.
Bear Whiskey. I've always been a whiskey fan, and now I think I'm a fan of ALL the Whiskeys in this family, and I've only read 2 books. How can you not fall in love with this guy? It's his possessive side, the alpha side, the do-not-mess-with-my-girl side. And then it's the sweet side, the always-there-for-you side, the patient side, the loyal side. And it's all wrapped up in one scorching, biker-riding body. Sign me up!
Crystal's dealt with a lot of stuff. Most people would have crumbled under the weight of everything she went through, but she didn't. She reinvented herself a few times, as a coping and defense mechanism. She has a life in the city she loves, working for her best friend, at a job she loves. She fought back, and she came back swinging. My kind of girl.
From the first book in the series, it was plain to see these two were meant to be. Bear's possessiveness towards Crystal was not misplaced, and he wasn't pushy. They wanted each other, but she had so many walls around her that it wasn't easy for him to break through. He went through it one concrete block at a time. Maybe a smaller man would have backed down, but Bear didn't, because she was worth it. Everything about them was worth it.
Something that really needs to be emphasized about Melissa's writing is that what you see is what you get. There is no lack of communication or drama just for the sake of it. These are characters who are open with each other, who trust wholeheartedly, and who give themselves up to the other completely.
After what Crystal went through, trust didn't come easy. Especially when she knew that the persona she created really isn't who she is, but who she thinks she has to be. She has so much to give, but all the past is dragging her back and swallowing her whole.
When Bear comes along, he knows he wants her. And it's easy to see she wants him back, but doesn't know how to go along with it. And the sweetness of him, his patience, his personality, and just him win her over. The chapter where she finally lets him in and shows him who she really is, even at a risk of losing him, really warmed my heart.
"When his arms circled her waist, bringing their bare chests together, it was like coming home. Warm, safe. Perfect."
These two absolutely needed and deserved each other in the best possible way!
Their journey was one worth taking, from dealing with the past, to the romance, the chemistry between them, the family ties, the trust, the love. The sheer happiness of it all, and the happily ever after.
I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
One of the Whiskey clan however, feels much more than brotherly love for Crystal. Bear Whiskey knew from the moment he met Crystal that she was it for him. Unfortunately he’s had a tough time convincing her that he’s right. They’ve become great friends and he’s never without his arm around her, but anytime their passion and attraction builds into anything more than that, Crystal slams the brakes on.
Her reluctance to take a chance on Bear confuses him. To himself and everyone around them, the fireworks and crazy chemistry between Crystal and Bear is evident. Even Crystal will admit that she’s attracted to him and loves spending time with him, but something from her past is stopping her from moving forward.
After 8 months of foreplay and Bear’s determined pursuit, will she figure out how to give him a chance, or will he give up and admit that he can’t change her mind?
Bear Whiskey is just about the most perfect man I’ve recently read in a romance novel. He’s loyal to a fault, kind, generous, hardworking and absolutely adorable with his niece and nephew. He’s somehow a sweet talker and a dirty talker! He’s patient, understanding and has the biggest heart. He cuddles kittens for Pete’s sake! But when it comes down to the safety or happiness of someone he loves, he turns from a teddy bear to a fierce papa bear to protect his own. To Bear family is everything.
Standalone. HEA. Characters from Melissa Foster’s book Tru Blue are major supporting characters in this book and the epilogue will mean much more to you if you’ve read Tru Blue, but to enjoy Truly, Madly, Whiskey you do not have to read Tru Blue first.

Here we go again with another fabulous Whiskey story and it doesn't take long before you are falling in love with everything that is Crystal and Bear, from the beautiful chemistry between them to the very protective and understanding nature of Bear especially after he learned of Crystal's past... it all made sence.
You feel incredibly connected to each character, they get right under your skin and into your heart, even early on with Jed. We had only just met him, when he and Crystal had made that first visit to their mother... you could tell there was more to him, I liked him instantly.
Certain issues and situations are incorporated into the storyline and not only are they dealt with extremely well, but with great understanding too.
As the storyline continues so does the concern about what happened to Crystal, it never really goes away and we certainly know how Bear feels about it and you can't help wondering if or when something comes back to haunt them.
I almost felt as if I had been in therapy but that is Melissa Foster for you... attention to detail is always excellent and by the end of a story l always feel like I've learnt something new. It's those subtle messages that feature throughout.
Truly, Madly, Whiskey is written so beautifully you feel as if you are there with the love of the Whiskey family and those fabulous phrases with certain young characters that just melt your heart honestly it's just to perfect for words.
The build up to the end is so special, not only did we have Tru and Gemma's wedding but Crystal and Bear too and with that terrible incident dealt with and Jed on his way to a better life... it couldn't have been more perfect.!
Looking forward to more Whiskey's!!
Thank you Melissa Foster.
First off, I love the title of this book. As an Alan Rickman fan, it reminded me of his film Truly, Madly, Deeply. And I truly, madly, deeply loved this book. Yes, Bear is a biker with a beard and tattoos (which I don’t like) but like mountain man Steve/Grizz, I fell for his wonderful heart. You can’t not love the guy.
This was an emotional rollercoaster of a read. We met Bear Whiskey in River of Love, and then again in Tru Blue, where his fascination with Crystal became apparent. For all his flirting – and her denial – there is a definite ‘something’ there, which she tries to deny. But how long can she keep her big, cuddly Bear at bay?
Crystal has a heap of problems to overcome, caused by some anxiety in her past, that no-one knows about. And even though she keeps pushing Bear away, he constantly comes back for more. And Bear also has some issues regarding his future - and choices made in the past - that will affect his family. So there is plenty of angst to work through on both sides, but with Bear’s family, and their mutual friends Gemma and Tru, along with the cute Kennedy and Lincoln, this book will fill your heart with joy.
I’m now wondering about Bones and Bullet, not to mention Dixie. Plus we get to meet up with Jace Stone again, and are introduced to Maddox Silver.
Melissa continues to amaze me with her fabulous writing. This is another brilliant book, with future heroes to wonder about.
When we first met Bear & Crystal in Tru Blue, I knew then that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their story, and Melissa didn’t disappoint with it either. Bear is a little rough around the edges but anything from scary – in fact he is actually more like a teddy bear, a quality that goes against the typical tough biker facade. He has waited 8 long months to be with Crystal, and try as she might she cant rebuff him.
Crystal is fighting her own demons and despite her tough biker chick exterior we discover it is all a front after events in her past made her reinvent herself into this hard-as woman. Bear find out her past and does everything in his power to show her that he is not after a one time thing with her and that he is looking for the real deal – all he wants a chance to prove that to her. We see Crystal break down her walls, in a story that is filled with so much sexual tension as well as being an emotional read for Crystal.
I hope we see more of the Whiskey family – especially Dixie I would love to read her story!
That will change now.
I like the style of writing and the way that the characters draw you in!
First their is Bear Whiskey, strong, caring, sweet and hot all rolled into one!
He's fiercely loyal and family is he's priority, putting them before he's own needs most of the time.
Then there is Crystal, a girl who has overcome a lot in her lifetime, but remains strong, loving and loyal, with some barriers that remain to protect herself!
When I started reading this story I was drawn in from the beginning!
A love story worth reading x
These characters appear in Tru Blue, another brilliant love story by Melissa and their story follows on from this novel.
I am not going to give any spoilers for the book as I don't want to ruin anyone's enjoyment of this as it is a book that you can't put down and spend many hours thinking you need to read just one more chapter!
If you like stories that make your heart flutter then this is for you!
