COMPLIMENTS/SUMMARY: Very good book. Had 2 different characters, sporty popular people and arty less cool ones. Tyler (the main character) struggled to find the balance of basketball and art. But in the midst of those challenges he wondered whether he should keep his old (sort of mean) friends or hang out with a less popular girl and loose his “status”.
CRITIQUES: too based on looks and popularity; not what middle school is like.
PARENTAL GUIDE: may make kids feel insecure about looks or their popularity. Suggestive material.
