Great romantic mystery and fast read

Pamela Kelley is one of my favorite authors. This is the first book of hers I have.read that is a mystery. I fell in love with the characters of Lauren, David and Gramps. I did not know who did it until the last three chapters of the book. The character development and storyline is so good!

A Exciting Book

This book was scary and exciting about a death of a student and the teacher being the subject of commting the murder.The reporters made Laurens life so scary following her at her school and home. Years ago Lauren and two of her friends were acused of murder and made a statement to the police that wasn't true because they were young and scared.

I really enjoyed all of this book. It did not hint at the ending as I was really engrossed in finding who the bad guy was.

Amazing read! So much story, the characters are embracing, the suspense is palpable! I'm really good at figuring out who done it way before I'm supposed to. And it's really just disappointing. My First Cozy Mystery

Having never read a cozy mystery before, I found the premise of this novel very interesting and picked it up. Ms. Kelley maintains a suspenseful, tense mood throughout the entire novel without any graphic violence. The characters are well developed and I like the way the heroine's past was woven into her present day predicament. Despite having guessed all the way through the novel, I was ultimately wrong about "whodunit" so I would call this novel a success. Ms. Kelley has an easy to read writing style that will leave you hungry for more but is simple enough to put down for work and chores and dive immediately back into. If you are new to the cozy mystery genre, this novel is a terrific bedtime read.

Tense tale, important theme

Well written; a tight plot and surprise ending. Sheriff Jake came across as unusually nice for a cop, but even that was credible given that he had been savaged by police while a teenager.

I particularly liked the theme, of an innocent person being falsely accused and nearly railroaded. It didn't happen in this story but in real life police sometimes fasten attention on just one suspect and put aside other possibilities; the aim is to get a conviction. Any conviction. To be innocent but imprisoned is a terrible thing.

Loved the book , the twist and turns the saying all the way no she did not do it but wait this one maybe kept you guessing yet with the feeling of Chuck , but never thinking he was the father, great book, will have to recommend it to all mystery lovers and was written extremely well.Will have to get Trust when I catch up on my reading ,looking forward to seeing what grandpa teaches these young law fellows, I have two grandsons that I are both on the law force and think they would enjoy this lightly yet knowing novel Thank you . Loved its details

Predictable but sweet. A good book with very likable characters and a few twists and turns to keep things going. A fun cozy mystery.

This is a solid mystery with a fairly sound plot and some good characters. Overall, I enjoyed reading it and found it a good summer read. However, I think it would have benefited from a better editor. There is a large amount of unnecessary detail about the food the characters are eating, which adds nothing much to the story and could have been condensed. Moreover, it has clearly not been proof-read. One character went from being Ted to Ed and then later back to Ted. The murder victim left in the afternoon to go to work in the morning. As another reviewer has pointed out, there are also a large number of grammatical errors.

They liked pizza !

I don't like to give negative reviews of someones hard work but I found this story rather weak. I just couldn't get into the characters and nearly gave up reading half way through. Does this author have an obsession with food? There were numerous mentions throughout the book of who ate what, I don't care what kind of pizzas they ate or how many slices! It didn't have any relevance to the story line. The ending also felt rather rushed and far too convenient.

An easy, quick read, Lauren is set up for the murder of one of her students by someone who clearly knows what they are doing. The question is whether her fiance will still want to marry her and what will become of her teaching career?

To my mind there was potential for more suspense at the end and the resolution came about a little bit too quickly.

Little disappointing

This book starts off so well and builds up nicely, making it an exciting read to begin with wondering how things are going to go. Unfortunately I was disappointed come the end as it got very obvious how things were going to go and the ending was wrapped up so fast. Fairly easy and quick read but feel a bit deflated now.
