Although Henry is trying to do the best he can things are tight and he is not about to spend money on lights, trees or any decorations as he feels he has nothing to celebrate.
Will and Ella feel it might be time to take matters into there own hands when they attempt to set there dad up on line. Henry is furious and tells the person, thanks but no thanks.
This is when suddenly on the first day a small beaked bird pokes out of a box delivered to the family. The next day two white doves, the third day three hens peck inside a garden that has not been used since his wife died.
As you know the twelve days of Christmas then you are aware of what arrives each day. In the meantime the house is noisy, messy and overcrowded. Each day provides to be more hectic then the day before.
The beauty and fun of this book is how one family manages to finally reclaim Christmas and all the wonderful fun things that go with it.
Thank Mr. Patterson for helping put me into the Christmas Spirit!
Needless to say I highly recommend this boik
