How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsTwenty Wishes Can Change The Reader's Life Too!
Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2019
I've read "Twenty Wishes" several times over the years, and I have found lessons to live by each time. It is the most encouraging book I know to help someone who is stuck in depression, or blocked from moving on after losing a loved one either through a divorce or death. I have recommended this book often and have given it as gifts to friends. Once articulated, a wish can become a dream fulfilled. I like the variety in age and life situations that the principle beliefs apply in the stories. And many of the stories are completed in other Debbie Macomber Blossom Hill books.

I almost stopped reading it because it just went on and on about how Anne Marie just couldn't move on after her husband's death. But then she took in the little girl Ellen and it became really interesting and the characters actually became fleshed out instead of boring widows. Loved the ending.

I saw this book and it had a picture of a little Yorkie. This is what made me get it and start reading the book. When I got to the end and found out it was a series I had to read them all so I got Book 1 and have been enjoying them ever since.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing and long story

I agree with a previous review that it is the most encouraging book I have ever read. The widows' list of 20 wishes and the surprising ways they come true are amazing. I also loved the relationship between Anne Marie and Ellen and how they cooperated with each other. The only negative thing was that I didn't notice the length of the book (purchased as a kindle) and was disappointed that it still lasts, and still lasts... The story of the supporting leads - for example Lillie's life - could have been shorter and less detailed.

I just finished this book yesterday! I have been reading Macomber for years and thoroughly enjoy all of her books. This one actually had several stories incorporated into one. They were actually inter-related as everyone knew each other. It was a very fascinating book and I enjoyed the outcome immensely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable reading!

I decided recently to spend less time reading fiction and instead read more nonfiction type books. I had this book in my Kindle and decided to read it before I archived it. I'm glad I read 'Twenty Wishes'! I could hardly turn off my Kindle - I just wanted to know what was going to happen next (especially with Barbie & Mark!). It's the kind of book to read on a cold, overcast day, with a cup of tea, and a blanket to cuddle in. An easy read and very enjoyable!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good beach read!!!

I love Debbie Macomber!!! I'm getting in the game kind of slow. My best friend told me 15 years ago how wonderful her books were but I didn't listen. I needed a beach read and found this book at a supermarket in Florida. I was hooked!!! I'm going through the Blossom Street books so far. It's an easy read and far too short! I wanted it to go on and on!!! That's a sign of a good book. It's not lyrical but who cares, the story line is very good. The characters aren't totally developed (I would've like to see all the characters fleshed out just a little more) and if they were, I guess the book could've been twice as long but its enough for the story to go forward. I am certain I will get through all the books! BTW I LOVE the Cedar Cove Series on Hallmark!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twenty Wishes can change your life!

Debbie Macomber never disappoints, and “Twenty Wishes” is a winner! Not only is it filled with romance and thought provoking relationship issues, this book presents the idea of thoughtfully writing down goals in the form of wishes and giving yourself a year to accomplish them. It was life changing for the characters and I am sure would be for readers as well. Macomber also tackles the challenges of dating someone from a different cultural background or someone with a disability with tact and grace.

The idea behind this book is really neat! At first you think it might be a sad storyline, but when the group of widows decide to write their 20 wishes, their lives start to change direction! Can’t wait for my book club to read and we create our list!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not as good as her others

I love almost all of Debbie Macomber's books. This one was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as her other ones. I felt it was a bit too predictable and reiterated some sentences too often.

I first learned of her by coming across her Cedar Cover series and couldn't put those books down until I had read everyone in the series. I was excited to begin reading another of her series-The Blossom Street series but am a bit disappointed that each book in this series almost seems very separate from the others. It doesn't seem to have as much of a continuing story from one book to another like the Cedar Cove series was.
