A different exploration of how a woman who has been sorely mistreated can "win"

The Perry characters play very specific, stereotyped roles to address certain problems. Madea is the true Mad Black Woman in this film, clearly not having overcome the damage from her own relationships as she engages in destructive behavior on behalf of her grandchild(?). This film relies on a number of different tools to both teach certain Christian values as well as provide life lessons (although some are for comedy, not serious), Although some non-Blacks may find it hard to appreciate this film, I feel it is very well done. As with, it seems, all of Perry's movies, the main characters are all very attractive, except the Perry costume characters, who represent the coarser side. It's a somewhat Christian film with a very specific goal carried to the end.

I'm a Madea fan, though I could do without some of the dirty jokes. And though I disagree with some of the philosophies (lol, I'm not talking about the jokes), I adored the church service toward the end. As a Christian, that really spoke to my heart, and I can see why soul music is called ~ SOUL.~ MUSIC. Beautiful. And thank you, Tyler Perry.

Funny but moral of the movie is not good

I had a lot of fun watching it and Medea was the star of the movie! I was actually amazed to find out that Tyler Perry played three characters in this movie, like, I didn’t even realize they were played by the same person.

But keep in mind that this has content related to domestic abuse in the beginning. On that note, the moral of the story of forgiving those who have wronged you shouldn’t have been a part of the story, it kind of killed the fun of the movie. You do not have the obligation to forgive your abuser regardless of what others tell you—family or otherwise. Do you what YOU think is right.

I have just recently discovered the Madea movies. We watched the Madea Funeral movie and fell in love. We are a WASP family, so I never picked this up before. But it is a Christian movie everybody can relate to. My 2 teen boys were not bored a second. Go watch it now.

One of Tyler Perry’s best!

One of my favorites of Tyler Perry. This is a story with such a powerful message: love, hate, serving, forgiving & taking charge of your life. It’s a story of living a more Christlike life. The acting is phenomenal. The ONLY reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is the cussing. I thought there was a bit too much.
