Interesting Perspective on Relationships

I love Madea! All her movies has so many learning opportunities in the various types of relationships. At first, I was annoyed by the angry wife/passive husband relationships. Once Madea talked some senses into the wives AND husbands, it became apparent to me that is why the movie started the way it did. In any type of relationship, it needs to have balance for it to work. A relationship with an angry person and a passive person would result in more abusive behavior and/or one walking away from the relationship. For a relationship to work, it needs balance - give and take, consider all viewpoints, respect each other, trust and honestly. Taking your anger out of someone will only make the relationship worse. Money is important to survive and live a comfortable life, but making money in an illegal way will only take you down the road of darkness. One of the relationships that stands out most is the young man with a demanding, high maintenance girlfriend who would rather him do something illegal so that she can live a better life. Relationship like this is toxic, and no one needs that. It might be hard to let go at first, but give it time, the realization of letting go is the best decision to make. Risk getting caught, going to jail and ruining your life is just not worth it. This movie captures one common thing in all the relationships and it is that no matter how well you do in life or how little money you make, there is no perfect relationship. To get close to perfection, both parties need to invest into the relationship and work as a team. If you feel that your spouse is not making enough money to give you the things you want, consider getting a job to help out, or both of you should look into what you can do so that you BOTH can make more money LEGALLY to contribute to the relationship and improve your life. Madea is so funny, as always. I love that she doesn't hesitate to discipline, and with the right level of discipline, it is possible to raise respectful and well behaved kids. I always enjoy the relationship among the adults in Madea's movies. Madea is no angel, but she isn't ashamed to admit the things she did in her past and she is problem fixer. They might say mean or insensitive things to each other, and in the end, their friendships are strong with support, love, and caring for each other. The baby mommy/ex-girlfriend is still annoying from the beginning and all the way to the end of the movie. I wish they left her out of the movie. LOL

A Family Falling Apart

Shirley (Loretta Devine) has been fighting cancer for about seven years, but it hasn't gotten her down. She's thanking God for the days she's had and accepting what is to come. All she wants more than anything is to sit down at a nice dinner with her adult children so they will all be together when she tells them the sad news.

Madea's Big Happy Family sends much needed messages to husbands and wives, battling siblings, bad behind children, teenage single parents... any family dealing with sensitive issues, disrespecting each other and keeping secrets. There were `zany' parts in this movie - I can deal with zany for a little bit, but it gets on my nerves after a while - but there were also quite a few touching and eye-opening moments. The first time I saw this movie was in the theater. The Opening Credits shows like an animated mini-movie, so I was entertained even before the movie began. My main thought after the movie was that families really need to stop wasting time and taking each other for granted. A sequel would be nice, because I would like to know what happens with Kimberly's (Shannon Kane) situation.

Favorite Character: Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis) - she's honest, bold and witty.
Favorite Line: You don't feel bad for me. You feel bad for somebody who don't know Jesus.
Favorite Scenes: Something's Got to Give/Look in the Mirror

I appreciate the fact that Mr. Perry brings humor into people's lives. I've always seen the ability to make others laugh as one of the most precious gifts a person could have. This world needs more happiness; I know I could use a good laugh daily. Mr. Perry has created a character or two who can be a little over the top - zany - but as a whole I enjoy his work. Laughter is only one thing his films bring to my life. What I like most is the lessons he teaches with his movies. When she's not acting crazy and going off on people, Madea shares words of wisdom that can reach my heart like a good Bible teaching. (Don't ask her about The Bible, though, because she is not very good at interpreting Scripture). And even when Madea doesn't play a part in a movie, somebody is going to say something thought-provoking. I don't have many of Mr. Perry's plays on DVD, but I do own every movie. I will continue to support his work.

Hi. I've been looking for the movie with this one young woman arguing with her ex-boyfriend over the baby and the way she Heeeyyyyyy! Byreeen! Aptly named the baby mama from hell-and she was, too! OMG-are there people out there like this? For real? Hope I never meet one. Only in this show-which, strangely, is the one reason after Tyler Perry I wanted to track it down and it so bad. You know, (And I hope NO ONE knows anyone actually like this) she's one of those 'you love to hate her' types that'd make you borrow $10 million to jump on Elon Musk's Space X ship and get off the planet if you had to be around that every day. I'm a woman, and just to think of being a man and having to hear that-haunts me. Watched it two weeks ago and I still hear her. Yes, she was a highlight and darned funny, but wow! Tyler's as funny as ever, even more so-unbelievably funny and enjoyable! Wonderful cast, can't wait to see it again. Like tonight for sure...self torture never felt so good. If you haven't seen this one-or heard the baby mama from hell, you have just got to see and HEAR it for yourself. (There's really no explaining it-no matter what you say about it, nothing does it justice.) Buy it NOW & find out! Fire

Might be the funniest Madea film

Tyler Perry started off making plays which followed the same script every time. There was a woman who needed to be saved by finding the right man and returning to the Lord. Thrown in there would be Perry showing up as Madea for some laughs and some songs. When he started making movies he dropped the music but stuck to the rest of the script. Slowly but surely however he moved towards straight comedies. In Madea’s Big Happy Family there was still a woman in need, Loretta Devine, but the comedy was dominant. For instance, Cassi Davis starts off flirting with a doctor and then David Mann finds out what a colonoscopy is. I think this was the perfect mix because the story of Devine was engaging and the jokes were really good. I think this might be the funniest of them all.
