UCEC USB to Dual ps2 Mouse Keyboard Converter Cable

It isn't perfect. Once in a while (very rarely), a key seems to get stuck. This is rare enough and the keyboards I've been using this for are old enough that I honestly can't blame this converter any more than I can blame the membrane/PCB or controller on the keyboard. It's a very minor annoyance that I honestly didn't run into enough to make me mad.
Now, something you need to know before ordering this: you might not get a product with packaging branded UCEC. When I first received my order, the one I received didn't work (my computer wouldn't recognize it and it heated up quite hot), and when I looked at the packaging, it was labeled J-SEK rather than UCEC. I ended up contacting the seller, who told me that it was indeed the UCEC product, just rebranded to J-SEK. Now, I honestly wasn't completely convinced by this, but they sent me a replacement (with the exact same J-SEK packaging) that I've been using for 3 months. Is it possible that it isn't really the same product as the UCEC converter advertised? Yes, but this is such a generic product that even if that's the case, this product is still a decent PS/2 to USB active converter that does the job, and that's what matters.
After quite a bit of research I concluded that this particular unit would indeed work on a Mac. Since there are few brand names I mostly had to go by the picture, and the long (2-inch) thick part on the USB end was indicative of this being an actual converter which is what I needed to get my IBM Model M working on my Macbook.
Sometimes it does glitch out and I have to tap the ALT key (mapped to the mac command-key) a few times, but this is pretty rare.
TIP: For my 20+ year old Model M keyboard I remapped ALT to command, CTRL to option, and CAPS LOCK to control (very rarely used by anything on the mac), as well as PAUSE and SCROLL LOCK to be brightness down and up.
This was much cheaper than buying a modern Mac-compatible Model M-style clicky keyboard from Unicomp ($120+) and I would definitely recommend this adapter over all other generic-branded ones. For PC/Windows users, you could definitely get away with a cheaper-made adapter, but for the price I would get this real converter and know that you have something that will be useful on a variety of computers. I had a couple non-brand and a logitech USB-PS2 adapter, and none of them worked at all for macOS.
Even if you don't care about Mac, I've had plenty of USB-PS2 adapters over the years, and sometimes they don't even work on particular makes/models of PCs!!!, so getting a REAL converter like this is just smart.
This is not the same as an adapter. An adapter does not convert the signals going from the keyboard to the computer and when I tried one, the computer didn't recognize the keyboard.
Frustrating. I've a few more IOT class computers to try it on to get an idea of if its this adapter or the "new" Raspbian Buster software at fault.
Update: after few days it got even less reliable with the mouse, not activating it even after a reboot. Also it would automatically type weird characters after switching if a terminal had focus after the switch, and messed up my KVM switch causing another system to lose video display.
Issue is not confined to the Raspbian Buster, also had the same issues with it running Ubuntu 16 and Ubuntu 18.
I use this only for a keyboard, and haven't tested with only a mouse or a keyboard+mouse configuration.
Now to the bad: IT DROPS KEYSTROKES, sometimes two or three key presses in a row. I need to do some more thorough testing to see if I can determine what contributes to the dropped keystrokes...

Overall good product
Confezione con descrizioni e istruzioni assolutamente tutte in cinese.
PS.
Very simple and useful adapter, does exactly what I need it to do and nothing else, never seems to have any problems with BIOS systems or booting up.
I mean I don't really know how you write a 5-star review for a product like this without it sounding banal or overblown. It's an adapter. It does what it says it does. What more is there to say?
