Broke when catching the very first fish

I have never seen an Ugly Stik rod break ever before and have used them since the late 90's. Took the rod on deep sea fishing trip the day after receiving it. Pulled up the first small rockcod (~1lb) and the tip snapped at about 4" from the tip. This is a 7ft, 1 piece rod. All previous Ugly Stiks have been very durable. It appears that this rod was built differently. It was just brittle. Let's put it this way, a bamboo stick will outlast this rod without any exaggerations. This is the last time I am buying a rod online and will now question the reliability of any rods as most are built with much lower quality out of China.

Very disappointed with this rod. I've used Ugly Stiks for almost 30 years. I had about a dozen and never has one broken. This one got hung up on a rock, and trying to dislodge it, it snapped in two. The top half is at the bottom of a canal. I did nothing more than I've done with any other rod. This was my first time using the Inshore Select 7'6" medium 1 piece. I think it's a beautiful rod, and I'm wondering if it was part of a bad batch, but I think I'll put my money on something else for now.

I love ugly stik n always buy them but i am disappointed today for this pole because some of the guides(eyes/loops) are not even at all, some tilting downward and supposed to be upward. They also arrived at my house just placing it there with a bag warp. It was not inside a box, so its a huge risk. I only wish it was inside a box at the very least, i honestly dont mind the uneven guides cause nothing is prefect.
