It's really harsh to describe this book as despicable, Christian propaganda based on 3 optional children's activities out of several hundred activities!
All of the themes are clearly listed in the book's description which includes many US holidays (Easter and Christmas seem to be the holidays in question). So it is quite a stretch to claim the author is trying to disguise the activities as Christian propaganda when it is written in the description. She also includes many other fun secular activities for these Christian holidays.
Moving on from all that, it's a great resource for activity ideas and categorized in an easy way to help find activities to cover any topic you'd want to teach your toddler.
As an elementary educator, I believe these are quality activities that will help keep my 2 year old stimulated and engaged. I love that a lot of them are low-prep and require basic school supplies. My goal was to find something to help me keep my toddler at pace during the summer while he is home with me. I didn’t want him to fall behind before returning to preschool in August.
Also, if you don’t want to do the few Christian holiday activities...just don’t. No need to write a terrible review about it. That in no way shaped my opinion about this fantastic resource. 5 stars for sure. I can’t wait to add more to my Best Mom Ideas collection!
Though it’s worth noting that there are holiday activities throughout and when it comes to winter they do only focus on Christmas. We are not churchgoing religious but do celebrate Christmas as a family gathering and love-filled celebration. I can see why those with other faith see it as single minded but propaganda is an inaccurate extreme term.
