3.0 out of 5 starsSchizophrenia is not a super power
Schizophrenia and mental illness runs in my family so and I know full well what it looks like and even how it feels so I was very concerned where this would go. There are moments in this show where tears have ran down my face because I know exactly what it feels like to have a mind like that and how it feels to be so alone and caged by your own brokenness. Although this was creative, inspirational at times and I hope people come to be more loving and understanding to those with mental illnesses, I also hope that no one down plays the seriousness of it and turn it into something magical and glorious. Because the reality the TRUE reality is it's hell not a super power. I am thankful to God I was healed a few years ago of all of these illnesses by His Holy Spirit. But some people are not and it never escapes me the struggle they go through everyday just trying to survive. I've been there and I hope one day to help others find their own freedom but if not I will love them and have compassion on them always.

5.0 out of 5 starsBeautiful, Creative, Mysterious, Genuinely Original
I binge watched this after hearing the interview on NPR and stumbled across it accidentally the day before its release. It's a brilliant concept that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's the right mix of psychological thriller, sci-fi, fantasy, time travel novella, and murder mystery all wrapped into one beautiful little package. The episodes are great bite-sized chapters that keep you enthralled and guessing where the story will go next. I'm torn between desperately hoping there will be a season 2 and hoping there won't as it's nearly perfect in the way it concludes. Its approach hearkens back to the best of the science fiction of the 1920s and 30s with a modern twist, and sensual visuals that create a vividly porous connection between the real and surreal.

5.0 out of 5 starsVisual and Mental Feast
Not only was the artwork stunning in detail, but the acting and writing were superb. The storyline incorporates some heavy metaphysical topics through the lense of quantum physics leaving the question of whether shamanistic experiences are real in some sense, and validated through science, or rather manifestations of mental instability an open ended question. Very well crafted, the series is a feast for the eyes and the mind.

5.0 out of 5 starsNice Surprise
Great story line. There is a fine line between schizophrenia & the ability to perceive information hidden from the everyday senses (ESP) just as there is between hallucinations and visions. This series has done a superb job in portraying that fine line and the balance that is required and the nature of reality. In the end It leaves one questioning. Best series I've seen in a long time. I'd love to see a season two...but if not...Perfect ending.

5.0 out of 5 starsMake more please
Such an interesting show. I have been waiting to see more animated good shows. It was creative.
My father passed away recently and it made me cry a bit because I had a dream he hugged me tight and I really wish I could rewind time and change a lot of things. One of those things would be that his death never happened.

I really enjoyed this show. Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 starsThe thing I hate about this show...
is that I wish there were more episodes and now I have to wait until they make more. SADFACE.

WATCH IT. Trust me.

At first the rotoscoping animation kind of annoyed me, but you'll get past it because the writing and acting are good. The animation actually adds to the story without feeling gimmicky. The casting is great, and there is interesting tension and complex characters packed into such a short time frame without things feeling too rushed. It's perfect for the cell phone diminished attention spans we're all grappling with in 2019.

I'm so glad streaming is allowing for switched up story structure (no more act breaks determined by commercials) and formatting. It's a "half-hour" (really the episodes are around 22 mins) comedic drama with sci-fi/supernatural/mystery vibes, and I'm into all of that.

Also, I love Bob Odenkirk. Just sayin'. He seems like a rad dude.

1.0 out of 5 starsChick flick series
A show for chicks into emotions, drinking wine and solving a predictable murder mystery. Go watch Dave Chappelle's Sticks & Stones stand-up instead.

5.0 out of 5 starsAmazing
It's an amazing, stunning and intriguing thriller. Even without the rotoscoping I find myself wanting to unlock the mysteries of this family, and Alam's new "gifts." I love that nothing is taken for granted and that the characters are so rich and full. Kudos, Amazon. It's a winner!
