The first time I was declared dead, I lost my past. The second time, I lost my humanity. Now I’m being hunted, and if I die again, my soul is up for forfeit.
After enrolling in Peel Academy, an elite supernatural boarding school on the British Isles, the last of the sirens, Gabrielle Fiori, only wants to fit in. Instead, the elixir meant to awaken her supernatural abilities kills her.
When Gabrielle wakes up in the morgue 12 hours later, something wicked is awakened in her, something even the supernatural community has never seen before. Now the only person who can help her is Andre de Leon, the community's infamous bad boy and the king of vampires.
Yet even his help can’t prevent the repeated attempts on Gabrielle’s life. Someone is after her, and they will stop at nothing to end her short existence. Only Gabrielle cannot let that happen now that her soul hangs in the balance, because she may have met the devil. And he wants her. Bad.

Gabrielle is a beautiful young women and is trying to uncover her family history. She is enrolled In Peel Academy (elite for supernaturals) which she is unaware of the supernaturals.
Andre de Leon is no other than a king of the vampires. He is well known and feared by all.
This was a beautiful love story that was well developed throughout the entire story. I found that all her 5 books were equally good. Lots of action, mystery, questions, betrayal, love, humor, sadness etc. There is lots of twist in the story, It was unpredictable throughout the book. I enjoyed this series very much. Not only do you meet Gabrielle and Andre, but you also meet many great characters that makes this book more interesting than it already is. I do happen to have a favorite character, and you will meet him soon. Oliver, oh Oliver has a big personality and just keeps you entertained as well. SO much humor is found along with strong friendship developed with Gabrielle. You cannot help but fall for the antagonist and protagonist in the process, which is very hard to love both. Normally you would just love the protagonist (Not telling you who the Antagonist is) you will see!!
There is danger that awaits Gabrielle and you will try to wonder how is it possible to change your fate that is already marked. So many questions to keep you entertained and keep you reading. Seriously, this series is one of the best I've read. All of Laura's other books are also great. I enjoy her writing style and if you enjoy any supernatural stories, you will enjoy this series. Enjoy!
I love this author! Everything Laura Thalassa writes is hard to put down. I've also read her Fallen World series and the first book of her Bargainer series, both also very good.
The concept of this story is fairly simple- a girl starts at a school for supernaturals without knowing she is one at first (a very unique one) and then gets immersed in that world- but it really catches your interest right away. There's elements of mystery, drama, and romance to the story. Gabrielle is a fun heroine and meets her match in sexy vampire Andre. My only minor criticism: Gabrielle can be a little annoyingly stubborn about doing things her way to the point of recklessness. But otherwise, I don't have any complaints. Lots of fun characters, not too much heaviness even though there's plenty of intrigue. You'll like it. I read it in day, couldn't put it down.
Was wary at first about her relationship with the vampire, Andre, because flashes of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen went through my head, but I was wrong. Andre was not an emotionless, irritating, creepy stalker; and Gabrielle wasn't a whiny, clingy, helpless teenager. Andre and Gabrille were completely the opposite, al though Andre's interest in Gabrielle sort of reminded me of a stalker. ;)
The story has great action and suspense that will keep you reading. I loved the unique world the author created, as well as how the author fleshed out the characters.
I've read a lot of books but none quite like this, a secret siren (last of your kind) turned vampire, with an attached soul mate. I was in love with it from the start, there's nothing I love more than an endless love story. The Unearthly is beautifully told through Gabrielle Fiori a recently realized siren and even more recently turned vampire with a very hot king of vampires that can't wait to make her his. Oh and the devil wanting her even more, can never go wrong when you put the devil in a love triangle.
One slight problem is just the repetitive at times stupid, way the story is told, but I can overlook that when it's a very interesting read.

I did like it to a point but the story did also feel slightly underdeveloped and the characters a bit flat and one-dimensional.
It's a shame as I am usually a big fan of this authors books.
I also found the heroine Gabrielle slightly irritating and very immature, She constantly jumps to conclusions with no actual proof and you’d think considering her unfair treatment from others she’d lay off all the judgmental opinions and Keep then to herself but nope.
So yeh liked not loved this as it just had too many cliches that had me rolling my eyes a bit.
I also thought there were times the flow felt slightly off with this as well.
I don’t even think that this being more YA was what bothered me either.
Rather I think it may have been that this was quite an early work from this author when she was still honing her craft somewhat I could definitely see the developing talent here but it was still quite raw in places and this reflected in the finished story.
This one was very YA and quite tame in content, it’s set in the same world as the bargainer series but separate and also at the supernatural Peel Academy where Gabrielle a Legacy is now enrolled.
After her Awakening, our girl finds herself in an unprecedented position both as the last of the sirens and now the firstborn vampire.
She also has the eye and attention of the king of the Vampires Andre he’s her new protector and mentor which is actually excellent as someone is trying very hard to kill her.
Andre is also Gabrielle’s destined soulmate.
So I did find this to be quite instalove and also a bit predictable and there’s also a bit of a potential love triangle at the centre as well.
it’s only slight though and I hope it stays that way as love-triangles in romances are a pet hate of mine I actually abhor them.
I also didn’t find the side characters that interesting either there was only Oliver that I was slightly intrigued by the others just felt flat and didn’t seem to add much.
I think I’m going to try reading the next book here but I’m also crossing my fingers that Gabrielle is going to grow up a bit and be less annoying and judgy.
Or at least stop putting herself in danger by acting without thought.
I also think she owes Andre an apology she’s behaved very unfairly toward him and she’s still acting like judge and jury, so not cool.
So yep this one was somewhat interesting time will tell if it manages to win me over.
