What a ride! Thank you so much Natalie Barelli for writing this dark thriller.
I devoured this book in one sitting. From the first page, I knew it was going to be good. Then I started getting worried about how the author was going to end the tale. I was thinking there was no way I was going to be surprised by it.
BUT. I. WAS.
I could feel my adrenaline surging through my veins the closer I got to the end. I was having palpitations with every twist and new discovery. Where is a beta-blocker when you need one?
Sorry, I seem to be digressing.
Unfaithful....The name of the book fits perfectly.
There is a marriage. There is a betrayal but there is so much more happening around the life of Anna Sanchez.
Let’s meet her.
Anna Sanchez is a married woman. She has two kids she adores and a husband she is obsessed with. She's also a math professor and is helping Alex with his thesis. A thesis that can change her life and his. Then Alex dies and she also finds out her husband is cheating.
Does she give up or fight for her family?
Read it now to find out.
Unfaithful stars the most deliciously relatable character. The author brought her to life in a way that made me wonder: is she crazy, is she sane, is she stupid, is she smart, just what the actual heck is going on here?
The twists are so much fun in this book. This is one of the things that makes Barelli’s books so unique. She’s not afraid to take the plot to the limit and then some. And isn’t that why we come to fiction? We want an amplified version of real life and boy do we get it here.
And the ending! Omg, the ending is pure gold. I’m a huge stickler for satisfying endings. And when I say satisfying, I mean the type of ending that has you snapping your Kindle shut, pumping your fist, and saying, “Yeah!” Now I’m sad because I have to wait for Natalie Barelli’s next masterpiece. Sigh. Oh, Natalie, why do you make us all wait?
Anna needs a shoulder to cry on. She decides to surprise her husband by showing up at his studio unexpected, but he isn't there. She hangs around & waits for him, leaves him a bunch of voice mail messages & finally she goes home. When he walks in, she asks him where he's been & he tells her he's been at his studio all evening, which she knows is a big fat lie!!!
Anna accompanies Luis to his first major exhibition at one of the most prestigious private art galleries. It's there that she locates the object of his adoring gaze - Isabelle. How long has it been going on? What is so special about her that Luis would risk breaking up his family?
Anna decides to confront Isabelle. Then Isabelle ends up dead. She fell from the top of the steps. She was pushed. Anna insists Isabelle was perfectly fine when she left her. Once again, she's questioned by the police who are conducting a murder investigation. She's being watched very closely.

Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
I do find it frustrating, although it does add to the tension, when someone witnesses or discovers a crime or tragedy that they don’t admit it to the police! After all they did nothing wrong but covering it up just leads to more lies and cover ups and that is the theme of this story of someone constantly looking over their shoulder while trying to discover what her husband is up to. Lots of tension and twists and an unexpected ending. Good read for the holidays when you don’t need to put the book down.
