A tragic past. An uncertain future.
Twelve years after the grisly murder of her parents, Kaitlyn Delaney has finally found peace. She has friends, a good job, a place to call home and a new life to live. But then a shadow creeps in from Katie’s past, reminding her that she will never completely escape its terrifying grip.
When private investigator Dan Oliver is called to the scene of a gruesome crime in New Orleans, he can’t help but hear echoes of the Delaney case, the unsolved murder that made him leave law enforcement. As he digs deeper, he unearths more chilling similarities—including mysterious letters connecting the killer to a string of murders that terrorized the Big Easy in 1919.
Now reunited after all this time, Dan and Katie scour the streets together, desperate to find answers before more lives are lost. But the otherworldly roots of this evil run far deeper than they ever imagined…and only the most precious of sacrifices will bring its twisted reign to an end.

I love the Krewe of Hunters series and this book is no exception. It's well-written with well-rounded characters and relationships that are well-done. The book's full of intrigue, suspense, and romance and it pulled me in from the beginning. I didn't want to put this fantastic book down. The murder mysteries will keep you guessing throughout and it has a happily ever after ending. I'm very eager for the next book and highly recommend both book and series. I do suggest that you read the series in order if possible for the most enjoyment and benefit but if you can't, just read the various trilogies within the series. This book is the first in its trilogy.
I love the history that the author always includes. The author is talented.
The primary storyline features current time serial murders in New Orleans, reminiscent of the historical Axeman Murders of 1919. “The Unforgiven” is more romance heavy than usual for a Krewe of Hunters novel, possibly to balance the bloodier murders and horrific crime scenes. Unfortunately, I pegged the chief villain early in the book, so the red herrings weren’t distracting enough.
I was disappointed that the Krewe of Hunters weren’t as involved in this storyline, because there are grisly multiple murders. Plus, the police procedural is not as strong as I’d like, because the protagonists are not FBI or local law enforcement officers. I did enjoy FBI agent Axel Tiger’s return as a secondary character, along with NOPD detective Ryder Stapleton.
As always, I enjoyed the author’s cultural references and historical stories about New Orleans. I look forward to reading another supernatural Krewe of Hunters book.
Kaitlyn Delaney went to the police to help and tell them about her parents. The original investigator Dan Oliver was called into the investigation as a consultant to the Krewe. The characters were in place an as one by one they brought them out before they know it the members began to be killed. Their job was hard but they did found who the killers are, he made his move but failed because they were ready for him.
Every single book in the series is an entertaining read with great continuity of characters. This book doesn’t disappoint!

Love reading books of this series taking place in New Orleans , but unfortunately this one wasn’t the greatest . Hopefully the next one will be better .
