About the Author

Mark Tufo was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended UMASS Amherst, where he obtained a BA and later joined the US Marine Corp. He was stationed in Parris Island SC, Twenty Nine Palms CA, and Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. After his tour he went into the Human Resources field with a worldwide financial institution and has gone back to college at CTU to complete his masters.

He has written the Indian Hill trilogy, with the first Indian Hill - Encounters being published for the Amazon Kindle in July 2009. He has since written the Zombie Fallout series and is working on a new zombie book.

He lives in Maine with his wife, three kids, and two English bulldogs. About damn time!! These two amazing authors collaborate on this frightening realistic tale using their tried and true characters, fan favorites for sure, in this new apocalyptic world. The action is fast paced and engrossing throughout. With such a plethora of titles under their respective belts, this story does not disappoint, except.....
Reading addicts might understand. I believe the only complaint would be similar to other addictions, we want more, more, more. Telling the author(s) to writer harder, faster, longer....while we pant in frustration, scratching and clutching the sheets, pages, tablets...sweaty and frustrated when the story is done(?).

Solid Start To A New Series About A Crumbling Country

I enjoyed this book by authors Mark Tufo and Armand Rosamilia. Each author wrote a separate story set in the same world where it appears the characters from both stories will eventually meet. It was nice that Tufo's story was larger in scale, while Rosamilia kept his smaller and focused on the characters. I wish the details of exactly what happened and how the country was taken over was more flushed out, but it was still a fun ride. Both authors have their own separate series, making it hard to write another entry in this one, but I do hope they give us one or two more in this setting since it seems to have a lot of potential. Tufo's gang name was a bit cheesy and a few of his characters were over-the-top, but preppers and fans of apocalyptic fiction should have a good time. A few continuity errors aside, this book is recommended.

Definitely a fun read. I'm coming from reading Tufo's Zombie Fallout. Haven't read Rosamilia's stuff, but after reading this, I'm going to check his works out. Nice to see old characters in a different light. If you expecting the constant run and gun action of ZF, you will not get it. But the build-up and uncertainty of this type of story is just as good as the fast action of zombie stories. It's just paced differently and you need to be prepared for that. But it is quite a bit of fun figuring out where allegiances lie and if characters really are who they say they are as the plot slowly builds to a frenetic pace. Not enough to drop a star, but I only take away slightly for the two chapters which pretty much tell you who caused the US's downfall. I would've left them out, leaving the reader in the same boat as the characters in trying to figure out what is happening. That could've been left for the next book. Just a note that it ends on a cliffhanger and I'm looking forward Book 2!

So a little harsh book but definitely a good read. The friendship developed between BT & Mike is really great and the callbacks to other stories are good little easter eggs. Pretty action packed but also with the Mike humor that you probably love in the Zombie Fallout series.

This book is two similar stories of a United States apocalypse . Right now both stories are literally on opposite sides of the country . Saying that, the storytelling is great and I can't decide which one I like the most. I will say the ending is really good and definitely leaves you wanting more. I find the town of Chico, CA kind of funny since I live in North Chico. The writer's description makes it seem smaller than it is and I think that's kind of funny and really has no bearing on the story. If anything, it seems that more real. The event and how it plays out constant United States to crumple it's quite plausible and I sure hope the North Koreans are reading the story 😊

I confess, I love Mike Talbot no matter what timeline he currently occupies. I love his irreverence, his sense of humor, and his loyalty to his friends among other things. I just wish Tufo was more prolific a writer! United States Of Apocalypse appears to be the start of a new series, co-authored with Rosamilia, that I look forward to reading. I assume this only because this story ended so abruptly. So, Messrs. Tufo and Rosamilia, start writing!

I think Tufo has hit upon the perfect story line. Apocalypse like zombie fallout series but this time the humans are scarier than the zombies. Very well written. But there is a cliffhanger at the end. So you will have to wait a year or so to find out what happens. My only complaint is that it's too short! I want him to write a book with more than 300 pages. I'd be happy with around 800!
