Just as Shannon and her ghost sister, Steph, ponder who’s the rightful owner of a ring from the trinket box, a young child goes missing. It's Clare, an angelic seven-year-old who can see ghosts. The whole town pulls together in a desperate search, but Shannon is terrified. It’s too much like the case that drove her into hiding, but Shannon must find the courage to open herself to visions that could break her. All the while hoping and praying that this time, the story will have a happy ending.

About the author

Sherrie Lea Morgan constantly searches for ghost walk tours in her home state of Georgia. There isn't a haunted house she refuses to enter. Bouncing off story ideas with her twin sister is a past time of hers, as her dog Bennett refuses to respond to her questions. When not working her current manuscripts, she enjoys spending time with her family. Although her children refuse to join her paranormal movie thrills, they are supportive in her obsession of all things scary. Of course, they are always willing to travel with her. She endeavors to show her readers a different view of ghosts in her paranormal books. Sherrie Lea also works to weave other paranormal gifts in her novellas.
She is an active member of Romance Writers of America, her local chapter Georgia Romance Writers and the Paranormal Romance Guild. Visit her web page at www.sherrieleamorgan.com.

Shannon knows she will have to join the search, but by doing so she will have to open herself to vision that could break her. This is far too similar to the case that drove her into hiding.
This is probably my favorite book in the series so far. It takes us in a different direction than the other stories. With a child’s life on the line, it has a more intense and urgent feel to it.
Will Shannon find the redemption she most desperately needs? Why has her ghost twin suddenly gone silent? If she fails will the townspeople that she’s come to love turn their backs on her? You can find all the answers inside the pages of A Vacant Hope.
I really enjoy this book as well as the other books in the series. They can all be read as standalones, but I suggest reading the entire series. I highly recommend this book and give it 5-stars.
Get out the tissues for this one. You'll need them!
Another trip to Petrie Crossing, GA and I still haven’t been able to get enough of this series. I have loved all of the books so far and the characters are relatable. Petrie Crossing gives the “sit down and stay a while” small town vibes.
I especially love that this book wasn’t exactly the story I expected, but was exactly what was needed in this series. Sherrie Lea Morgan never disappoints!
some gifts might not be enough
