The book draws on the same wonderfully entertaining characters from “Fright Club,” and tackles a truly lovely subject matter, “Love.”
Fran K. Stein is preparing a Valentine for his love interest. The other characters, (Witch, Mummy, Ghost, Vampire) just don’t know what to make of it.
They don’t know what a heart is and are trying to guess.
One of the more “mature” characters, a Bunny, understands and the group has a diversity of opinions about what love is and what it is worth.
Ethan Long uses wonderfully detailed illustrations, and provides a light touch and humorous story that has a nice and valuable lesson in it about the nature of love.
I recommend this book to anyone with small children, especially around Valentines Day or Halloween. I expect to be gifting this book for years to come.
