Regulate your RV's water pressure with the Valterra Lead-Free Hi-Flow Brass Water Regulator! The adapter regulates incoming water pressure to 50-55 psi, the ideal pressure for your needs. The screened washer prevents debris from running through your camper water system and is easy to clean.
The water regulator attaches to the campground water spigot and reduces the water pressure that feeds through the water hose into the RV. It protects both the hose and the RV from high pressure and prevents pipes from bursting. With a lead-free brass construction, you can be confident in the safety and quality of your attachment. The Valterra Brass Water Regulator conforms with federal and state laws for drinking water fixtures, making it the ideal addition to your RV. Water pressure over 55 psi is not recommended.

UPDATE: a few months later and it's still doing great. No leaks, no issues at all. Would buy again.
I wrote the first review after purchasing this regulator 11 months ago. That regulator failed a few days ago. I quickly purchased an exact replacement. That one doesn’t seem to be working properly. After installing the new regulator everything seemed fine. After a day I had no water (again). The flow at the regulator seemed okay so I took all of the hoses apart. I found a small rubber piece in the screen at the water filter purifier. I don’t know if this was left over from the first or from the second regulator. I removed it and within 24 hours both hoses after the regulator blew out. I also was concerned about the pressure inside the trailer. I had an old different style regulator that I am now using for now and I had more hoses. I’m no longer confident of the quality of this regulator and will begin a search for something else.
At the time that I bought this one, the other major brand was cheaper, but I see that they're currently the same price.
I've also seen the recommendation that you turn off the outside water supply when leaving for the day, because you don't want to be that person that comes back in the evening after a hike or swim to see water running out of your door. I also follow that advice!
The Orange plastic grip allows easy, screw-on installation and removal. It comes complete with an internal screen/washer, too.
NOTE: The included screen/washer is NOT stainless steel, so it WILL rust through in a couple of months -- I use ONLY stainless-steel screen/washers to avoid bits of rotted screens from clogging the Regulator, the Timer, or the Sprinklers.
The lead-free "brass" regulator body is designed primarily for RV hookups -- to keep dangerous LEAD from leaching into your drinking water, but mine is mounted on the garden hose faucet to prevent blow-outs of soaker hoses and drip systems. Another feature of the Valterra shows up in the monthly Water Bill -- it's MUCH lower than before the installation of the Valterra regulator !!
The Valterra Regulator runs at 52-55 psi., tested at the faucet with a Rainbird P-2 Pressure Gauge.
I use the Valterra regulator ahead of an Orbit Digital Timer for precise lawn watering and accurate water distribution through GILMOR Gear-Drive Sprinklers, also available at Amazon.
My order arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Thanks, Amazon !!
UPDATE: 14 June, '14 -- Regulator is still working perfectly -- with no leaks and/or drips -- and the Water Bills are still lower than before the Valterra was installed.
