About the author

A native of the Philadelphia area, Jeff has published multiple works in both fiction and non-fiction. In 2011 he was the recipient of the Red Adept Reviews Indie Award for Horror.
Jeff's debut novel BAD GAMES was a #1 bestseller that spawned four acclaimed sequels, and now the series has been optioned for feature film.
Free time for Jeff is spent watching horror movies, The Three Stooges, and mixed martial arts. He loves steak and more steak, thinks the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the greatest movie ever, wants to pet a lion some day, and hates spiders.
He currently lives in Pennsylvania with his wife Kelly and their cats Sammy, Bear, and Baby Girl.

She is weak and narcissistic and a really terrible mother and wife and yet the writer paints her as some kind of secy darling.
Monica who is the villan is the exact opposite which paints the picture that for a woman to be independent and strong then she must be bad or evil.
This is probably all unconscious by the writer but I'd prefer a stong realistic female character that isn't always offering her husband oral sex (authors fantasy wife).
The story then speeds up and never takes its foot off the gas, driving you right into your worst nightmare. Just when you think it can't possibly get any worse, it does. Then you think that it's over, but it's not. When you think there can't be any more twists, there are. You won't want to miss this one. I'm sitting here trying to write this review but find myself drifting off, speculating what could happen in book three, which I am going to start in just a few minutes. I can't get enough of this series.
Menapace does a masterful job with the pacing of the story. It's a gripping page turner that's momentum makes it hard to put down. Monica and John are great characters-cold and calculating killers that are always two moves ahead and make few mistakes.
The only thing that keeps me from rating it five stars is that one has to go into the book with a suspension of disbelief. Are we really to believe that Patrick would drool over the sight of Monica at a funeral, yet when Arty first sees her, she's the spitting image of his brother Jim (who tortured Patrick and Amy throughout Bad Games). She's not Lon Chaney, just a knockout with colored contacts and a wig. Also, Patrick has his presentation at work sabotaged. How about using a flash drive or better yet, show up early and go over your Powerpoint presentation beforehand?
Two major points: It is not a good standalone. If you liked book 1, this one is better. If you hated book 1, don't bother.

We meet back again with the Lamberts, and the new members of the Fannelli family who are intent on taking revenge for what the Lamberts did to their family. It was absolutely fantastically written, and it keeps going at an amazing pace. Each chapter generally follows on from the last, there are no annoying flashbacks while you wait for the story to pick up pace. The plot is believeable and extremely creepy!
The last few chapters I was honestly wriggling in my chair I couldn't sit still, waiting to find out what was going to happen. It was very intense and this is from someone who usually finds it hard to get too involved with characters in books. It very rarely happens for me, but this book, along with the previous, sucked me right in. I was so surprised by the ending but I can't say anything else without giving it away.
I cannot wait to read the third book and I will be browsing the kindle store for other books by this author. I personally would LOVE to see these books being made into a film! Considering the price, you MUST read these books...

It was a hard act to follow, and, to be honest, I didn't think this sequel quite matched up to it.
I read it, but not in one fell swoop this time. 'Bad Games' drew in the reader instantly. 'Vengeful Games', less so. Fans of the first book, like me, would have read on, but I'm not so sure about new readers.
My rating (veering on the generous side) is lower than the 5* I gave to 'Bad Games' for several reasons:
I felt that to begin with, the plot was quite disjointed, the characters of and relationship between Monica and her father were less believable than that of Arty and Jim in the first book (as were some of the actions) and this one would have benefited from a final edit - I noticed several typos.
Having said that, Menapace delivered the twists, the menace and the black creativity of 'Bad Games'. I shall continue to look out for his work and can't imagine what he has got planned for the next book in the series.

Vengeful Games is such a page-turner, so terrifying and thrilling, it's THE perfect follow-up to Bad Games.
Unhinged and remorseless Monica is a fantastic character added to the already heady mix of people in this story. Nuclear missiles have less impact!
A truly terrifying tale of yet more twists and turns, with the unfortunate Lambert family caught up once again in the middle of the Fanelli's sick and torturous games.
Jeff, once again, has excelled. Please write a sequel to this sequel!
