VERA episodes being held hostage by Britbox
I LOVE Vera. It's an excellent show that never disappoints!! What does disappoint is the way these channel providers are allowed by Prime to continue to hijack our subscription fees by dragging out the distribution of the episodes. Episode 2 aired on January 19--is it on Britbox? NO! Episode 3 airs today. Is it on Britbox? NO! Like every Prime channel they will hold the episodes to collect more subscription dollars. Prime and their providers are money gougers. If you pay for a channel or a service--every episode should be available immediately, or at the very least the episode should be available online as soon as it's aired on TV.

When I checked Britbox this afternoon and saw that Season 10, Episode one was available, joy leapt in my heart. Brenda Blethyn is Vera. She and the rest of the cast, the location, the writing, the filming combine to create a beautiful symphony. I am not eloquent enough to say why this is the best show on Britbox. I am not easily pleased, so when something does fulfill this yearning ... well, I am grateful. Ignore the one star reviews. The reviewers are angry that Britbox is not releasing the episodes fast enough. They are two weeks behind each episode's release in the UK.

Vera brings those cold, blustery moors to life! A real diamond in the rough. She's one cagey, ripe old bird with a sixth sense about her. She's intuitive and knows what drives those around her, as well as the criminals that do the dirty deeds. Vera is a landmark series and a true mainstay, when it comes to British murder mysteries/detective series. One of our favorites!! Just can't wait for them to make more!

Addicted to Vera!
What a great start to the 10th season of "Vera". If you start at the beginning you will see how she has grown as a character and although she often would seem to treat criminals better than her co-workers she is actually a "Mother Hen" to them all. The Northeast England accent is music to my ears. I highly recommend this series based on popular English mystery writer Ann Cleeves.

Blethyn knocks it out of the park again!
I've loved the Vera series from the beginning. The first season with David Leon was my favorite. However, I'm happy to say that season 10 looks to be fantastic. The cast is so excellent and the story lines are always so intriguing and beautifully filmed. Brenda Blethyn is definitely one of my favorite actors. Really, all the actors are all so good - I especially love Jon Morrison's character, Kenny. I hope this series goes on forever. Kudos to Ann Cleeves for writing such a great series.

Absolutely the best show
The storylines and the portrayal of Vera by Brenda Blethyn are brilliant. On top of that, the production values are always top-notch - atmospheric settings outdoors, fantastic staging of office and house scenes. This show is perfect in my book. I hope S10 is not the last!

Every season of "VERA" is worth watching

Brenda Blethyn is a superior actor; she's a delight to watch. (She was Mrs. Bennet in the Keira Knightley version of PRIDE AND PREDJUDICE.) The stories are interesting, the scenery different from most UK police procedurals, and the character of Vera is quirky. It's worthwhile investing 90 minutes in each episode.

Suspenseful, crime drama
As only Vera can do - so well written - acted - characters so well fleshed out. Storyline hooks you to the end - and through it all Vera is wonderful as the no-nonsense, cut to the chase, lead, albeit her quirky sense of humor. Love, Love Love this opening episode of Vera, Season 10. Can't wait for the next installment! Heather Stewart
