Vera is great, Amazon not so much
Um, I'm usually cool with episodes being released old-school weekly. But Vera has now completely stalled in episode release. Should I be chasing this, seeing as I've already paid for the subscription?

Major bummer and seriously irritating. At least provide an explanation -- Amazon-Bezos, streaming money-grab, look Ma I'm in space and gonna pay to live forever >eye roll<.) service. Good grief. When should I stop bothering to check in for the episodes I paid for but aren't getting? Sheesh.

Vera is back!
What can I say, our favorite detective is back and in rare form. We have watched every episode of Vera since first discovering this on BritBox several years ago - some of them 2 or 3 times - and Brenda Blethyn just keeps nailing it. The stories are as complex as ever. Always difficult to figure out "whodunnit" and always a pleasure to see Vera bring the criminal to justice. All of the supporting cast is there, along with Vera's acerbic comments/humor and she doesn't let up on poor Aiden (not so much Kenny this episode). The raincoat, house dresses and signature scarf have not changed, nor has the Land Rover. A feeling of comfort surrounding one of my all time favorite TV characters (shades of Columbo). We are so grateful that there is a new season with more episodes in the offing.

If you haven't discovered Vera yet, I strongly suggest that you go back to S1, E1 and start from the beginning. That, however, is not necessary as you can jump in any time, but there are very few insights into who she actually is, and how she became what she is, and those small clues dot the episodes over time. Rewarding to have the insight, but not necessary. Each episode stands on its own and is a pleasure to watch. Do yourself a favor and become a Vera fan.

One of the most enjoyable series Britbox has ever produced.

Love the series, this season not so much
I have seen the first two "episodes." Love the Vera universe and its actors; however, not this season so far. The overall effect is very low energy. Vera's obliviousness to Kenny is disturbing at this point. She has an unattractive disregard of his needs and issues. I don't know whether this is deliberate on the writers' part, but his character seems exhausted and at the end of his tether. I like this character and want the show to stop picking on him! Miss the older guy with all the daughters. The second episode was particularly disturbing because I totally identified with the murderer. I completely agreed with their reasons and felt that the show was wholly insensitive to their real dilemnas and ended on a faux note as to the mother-daughter relationship. The plot and characters were all first rate, but the lack of empathy was not in step with how this show normally is. Any Vera is better than no Vera, but hope next season gets its mojo back.

Love Vera but not this season
Fell in love with this series a few years ago when I first seen it couldn't get enough also like the hour and a half episodes they're more like a mini movie than a TV series love the character but in all honesty starting to get sick of Vera's verbal abuse of everyone including Kenny one of my favorite characters she reminds me of a female columbo even with the long trench coat and the crappy car unfortunately this season was very disappointing for some reason they seem to go woke which most of my favorite series seem to have gone over the past couple of years British TVs always been quite progressive which is fine but now it's gotten to the point where every episode including the story lines have to do with being woke or politically correct only two episodes this season so far so I guess I will just keep watching hoping things will improve ..early episodes I would rate as five out of five stars everything from TV commercials to announcers at sporting games have to be woke now.. I'm really getting sick of it being shoved down everyone's throat. Also the writer seem to have gotten lazy most viewers should be able to figure out who the killer is Midway through the episode. After 11 seasons maybe Vera has run her course and she should take early retirement. She's just too old school....

So glad this show is back!
I really enjoyed this show in the past and am so glad that it is back. I love the main character! If you haven't seen it I would give it a try. But from the very beginning episodes. Although I have not seen any new episodes after the second episode this season. Is that all there is? Very disappointing if so.

A real treat to watch!
So happy there's a new season of "Vera". I've watched all 10 seasons and was glad that there was now a season 11. This series has been consistently good; characters, story-line, mystery--all high quality. Never a disappointing episode. I've read the books by Ann Cleeves and the casting is so perfect that the characters in the program could have stepped right off the pages! This series is not to be missed!

The best-always!
There is never a misstep in Vera as far as the writing, acting…all of it! Brenda Blethyn is perfection in this role. I so look forward to the next episode and am over the top thrilled to have a new one to watch. This is simply the best show with the lead actor being the most incredible actresses around!

So glad she & her team are back!
So easy to slip back into the story, with its memorable characters and, sometimes, their backstories. I hope we learn more about the minor members of her team this season. But, why aren't they wearing masks like the rest of us?
