I had no idea what this book was other than that it was a kinky novel, good for women to just live in a fantasy temporarily. However, I was met with a descriptive and horrible rape scene not even a quarter of the way into the book. This is extremely triggering for me and I put it down immediately. I will not be picking it back up ever again. I am going to be asking for a refund.

WHAT WHAT WHAT?! Rina just wrote a new favorite- my mind is blown!

From the first enigmatic and gripping chapters, I knew this would be a story like no other, setting the tone for a dark, consuming, and mind bending story that I simply could not put down from start to finish. This is everything I love about Rina Kent- a masterfully woven plot full of twists and secrets, characters with dark pasts and complicated flaws, intense, frenetic chemistry that tears up my pages, and an intense emotional undercurrent that devours. Only THIS- I can already tell this is going to be so much more, because I can already tell this series is going to be Rina’s best storytelling to date. I AM RAVENOUS FOR MORE!

Winter is a heroine like you’ve never seen in any Rina story- and my goodness is she riveting. Rina keeps an air of mystery around her- we don’t fully know or understand her, but we know she’s suffered, she’s in pain, and she’s radically imperfect. But she’s also a survivor- even if she’s just hanging on by a thread at times, even if her ways of coping are less than ideal. While the circumstances of her situation are opaque at best, there’s a presence to her, an emotional gravitas that just pulls you in. We care and sympathize with her- we root for her. And we love watching her fight- especially Adrian. Despite being powerless in her own life in a lot of ways, being in an emotional spiral, and then being sucked into Adrian’s orbit, she’s got a defiant streak that won’t quit.

And I LOVED watching this intense push and pull with Adrian. Adrian is even more of an enigma. We aren’t sure his motives, if we should fear him, or even just where his head is at- all we know is that there is so much more to him than meets the eye. We knew it in the Throne duet, and we see it even more now. This man is complex, and the snippets we get from his past pain a picture of an emotionally scarred man I was not expecting. I am addicted to his mystery, and like Winter, I’m enthralled by his dark and devious persona. Their chemistry is just volatile, consuming, and chaotic magic. So much tension, so much conflicting emotion, SO intense. You can tell this is a love that will destroy, that will completely wreck them both- AND I AM HERE FOR IT.

Be prepared for twists and turns. This story is brimming with secrets and half truths. And Rina really brilliantly disorients us and our characters. You don’t know who to trust- with Rina even toying with some unreliable narration elements in her POVs as we try to figure out just what is real, and what is an illusion. And, there are some really intricate plot threads that will keep you on your toes- not only do we have the dynamism of Winter and Adrian’s complex and fraught connection, but we also have tons of mafia business in both the past and present to contend with, both characters’ past, and the mystery of Lia. SO much rich content, so much to be intrigued by. This story will twist you in knots with theories and suspicions- some of mine right, some wrong, but just when I thought I’d figured it out, Rina would throw me off the trail again. Then, Rina drops the mother of all revelations and cliff hangers on us, and my jaw is still on the floor, my heart still in my throat.

Vow of Deception is psychological, romantic suspense at its finest! There is a palpable foreboding energy that permeates every page- this steady, dark and dangerous pulse that keeps you enraptured. I am so addicted already- and I need answers! This is how you start a series!

Holy Cow! Hearing Jason Clarke voice Adrian is incredible! He fits so well! I couldn’t get enough of him. He sounds like what an anime villain sounds like, and I mean that in the highest of compliments.

I’ve gotta listen to more books with him narrating.

Desiree Ketchum is a very good narrator, I had to get used to her voicing Winter but the more I listened the better it got, and her voicing men is really good. And she is a Perfect for for Winter.

I literally just finished this Book and when the Audiobook came out, I was so eager to jump right back into the book again and this time listen to it.

After Listening:
My Mind Plays Audiobooks like a movie, and this was such addictive ADDICTIVE ‘Movie’! The ‘Visuals’ in every aspect of this book were so vivid to me.
This is definitely one of Rina Kent’s Best works, and having these two narrating together is/was sincerely a great decision, I am so excited to hear them Narrate the Next Two books.

I will definitely and most happily be listening to this particular Audiobook over and over again.

I loved this story so much! It was dark, steamy as hell, and mysterious. I loved the thriller and mystery elements of this story so much. I love how I can never predict what is going to happen or what the true story really is. This story hooked me page 1 and would not let me go until the end. This is probably Rina’s spiciest book yet. The character dynamics and plot were flawless. This story has a strong and resilient main female character whose depth was incredible. As well as, a dark dubious and enigmatic main male character. I love how I still have so much to learn in the upcoming books but this was an enthralling start to this trilogy. I highly recommend to all dark romance lovers!
